my Logitech g230 just broke, I liked them very much especially the shape and how they gently caressed my ears, I'm wondering if there are any similar headphones that have a similar ear cup and better audio? I'm willing to spend about 150-200$ although I could probably do a bit more if it was particularly good. Thanks for any help!

Get headphones and a separate mic. Headsets are overpriced. With that money you should be able to get some good quality audio. A Zalman clip-on mic will do the trick, and you could invest more and get a modmic. You could also just get a desk mic, a lot of people use the Blue Snowball.

I haven't had a pair of high-end headphones myself, but i know sennheiser and audio-technica makes some good headphones.

This was posted in another thread recently and I agree with most of it

As far as headphones are concerned there is a lot of variety to choose from, you should do some research and decide on priorities (things such as open vs closed headphones, soundstage, mids, warmth, neutrality, etc.). Headfi is a good site to use as reference.

$200? man, don't get a headset.
for $200 you can get prince-quality headphones + seperate microphone.
no headset of $200 is gonna get you money's worth. no way.

i think tf.tv gets about one thread a day on headsets, and they all get the same responses:
unless you want something cheap, like <$20, it's worth getting separate pieces.

maybe we should have a sticky "Are you looking to buy a headset?"-thread.

maybe we should have a sticky "Are you looking to buy a headset?"-thread.

If the headphones were sticky I probably wouldn't want them.

Also the general advice seems to be to get a separate mic and headphone, what is a good headphones to get? Preferably with a cord and comfortable plus good audio.

Yo there are some "Gamer" headsets that are sick as fuck.

Don't need to knock 'gamer' headsets and say they are all shit.

As for OP's question,

should do you good and is right at the $200 point
