I'll know more when Hidi is back, but from what I know, prepayment will be $25 a person or so, this ensures people attending, covers costs for hosting and potentially prizes?
Luc made a good point to me where people should just pay for their own PC, but the more PC's we need, the bigger deposit I'd have to pay.

I am very interested in attending, the commute shouldn't be too far and there's enough gamers I know for me to feel welcome in a gr8 country.

If its getting home late you're worried about I highly doubt we'll be there super late, maximum time we have is 8 hours with the party option I believe. So a start time around 12 or 1 would end us at about 8-9, if you forego an evening out you would probably be fine. Theres people who will also have to commute back home that probably wont want to stay super late either.

The main point is that atm I live very far from toronto and have no plans to get there or have lodging, but my university residence is in Guelph which is a manageable 2 1/2 hours away where I can just take a bus right to the city. Getting into residence makes life easier for me and allows me to go back somewhere to sleep that night :(

are there any age restrictions for this?
are there any age restrictions for this?
Only age restriction would be for drinking. If you're under 18, I'll need your parents signature.
Any update on when y'all need the prepayment/ have a payment system set up?

I will likely need a ride up there but I'll def. be down for Sep. 5th, possibly Aug 30 (I'm busy the 29th). Will try to secure a car anyway, if anyone is passing through Windsor or lives between there and Toronto, please lmk.

Hey guys, I'm back.
Again, the biggest thing that needs to be set up is online registration and payment because we need confirmed numbers to present to the venue. However, because we don't have those numbers, the date of September 5th is subject to change since we cannot book the venue unless we have a solid number.
As for minors; There are no restrictions as far as I know, however I will relay any additional information on minors as that becomes clear (This is important for me as well). I also will look into insurance policies and other venue rules.
As for alcohol, given my situation, I will have to discourage it outside of places where it is served (i.e. bars and restaurants). The venue did not have alcohol when I was last there, and my guess is prohibits it. It would be kind of awkward to have people drinking in places outside of bars and restaurants when the person running the whole event can't drink.

pretty sure sheo's list is confirmed people, can't really say its going to be good for the participant count for this LAN if you change the dates now or there are possible changes, people can't just go back and forth to work, school etc with changing dates all the time, there has to be a commitment now since its right around the corner and it should stay September 5th as that's what people have been working with your entire absence

I think the issue is a lot of people can't confirm if they can go unless there's a solid date. Not sure how that can be solved if they won't give us a solid date without solid numbers though.
That being said I should be able to go no matter when it is, you can put me down as confirmed (if you could list me as GammaOrionis instead of clementinestars that would be cool too). I'll pay as soon as registration is set up (is there a plan for that?)
Also, I don't think it would be awkward if people were drinking if the venue allowed it even if you're unable to. As long as everyone keeps it reasonable and doesn't go overboard. I know there was alcohol brought to the Chicago LAN last year and it seemed to go alright. But that's only if the venue is OK with it, of course.
