After a day of competition, Gimmicks, Guts & Glory has finished its group stages. A few headlines from the day:
Sea of ringers
Not a single team could pull together their full roster for the tournament, with some teams like Reason Gaming and The Last Resort having to replace half of their roster in order to be able to play. Hildreth was also spotted playing demoman for both full tilt and Danger Dogs by TF2Pickup.net during their group stage matches.
froyotech drops out
froyotech's situation can be summed up with the following tweet:

Having only one player online, they decided to drop from the tournament.
full tilt upsets nerdRage
The mix team currently known as full tilt managed to turn some heads by defeating ETF2L third place team nerdRage.tf2. This resulted in a three-way tie in the group, and head-to-head round difference allowed them to exit the group in second place and move on to tomorrow's elimination stages.
nerdRage beats Reason
In a surprising turn of events, nerdRage.tf2 managed to defeat Reason Gaming in both games of their series, albeit with both teams using mercs and at a close scoreline. Unfortunately, the three-way tie in their group did not go in their favor, allowing Reason to breathe a small sigh of relief for tomorrow's elimination games.
Saints, Dogs winless
Both Danger Dogs by TF2Pickup.net and Saints finished the group stages with no wins to their name. The Dogs result was somewhat unexpected, given they were unable to take a single round against LEGO, whom they had defeated handily in their series in the immediate past ETF2L season.
Elimination teams determined
After the group stages, we have our final four teams. These teams will advance into a double elimination bracket in order to compete for a share of the prizes, with the first round of matches being Reason Gaming vs. LEGO and The Last Resort vs. full tilt. Tune in tomorrow to see the conclusion of the tournament!
