I know hildreth put up a thread a while back about this and the possibility of saloon sponsoring an i55 fragmovie, that idea was scrapped/there wasn't any advance to it. And I would really love to work on that, even independently.
This would be something I would pull out all the stops for. And I would love to work on a project of this kind, after having worked on all the PotDs for comptf, and specially on Infinite Power, I know I am capable of diving into a project of this dimension as long as there's support for that of course.
So this is basically me asking that question and regardless if so happens, just as a start can we please have every player record their POV demos, preferably through P-REC and save them after lan. Let's not pull a TCM who deleted all their pov demos after leaving lan cuz the PCs were rental. And don't forget to bookmark stuff.

Would it be helpful if people who watched lan kept timestamps of big plays? Obviously not as good as ticks but it might save work for you, especially for people watching the second stream/smaller games.

That would be incredibly helpfull. For the i55 teaser for example, I went through the ggg vods and these were my notes, granted this is only the stuff caught on stream, also the timings are the time left on map (the easiest way to associate with ticks) and the map times are the start on the VOD.
Then I have notes like good cast sound and stuff like that, that helps me know if a specific frag had a nice or exciting casting bit I could later past over the frag.
I sincerely hope the players bookmark their good stuff so it's easier to go through it (because it's always better to record from a pov demo. And also there's always stuff that's not caught live on stream.

will this just be frags or do you plan to have live footage as well?

Yo, just saying I'm definitely gonna go through with this, the frags this lan were too good to pass up.
I'm not asking anyone else not to release i55 frags or fragclips because that would be a unrealistic expectation and a bit selfish from me but I would definitely appreciate that.
I talked with beater and he is up to helping out so that would be cool as well. I'll probably try to get my hands on all pov demos and stv demos I can find in the next few weeks.
Im expecting at least a 6 month project, with what I saw this weekend I might have 20+ mins of constant frag material to work with.
BoneSwill this just be frags or do you plan to have live footage as well?
I would definitely would love to get my hands on footage from lan, if possible. I am not really thinking about taking the "fragumentary" approach, I will go more with a fragmovie style, but there's definitely a place for a few lan shots.

I know nothing about making entertaining videos but I would love a frag movie with a chronological order which tells a story of the progression through the tournament while still keeping the focus on the frags, dunno if that's possible but I feel it would be amazing.

True, but I think there's less human footage (interviews, bootcamp vids, ect) at i55 compared to i49 (I could be wrong), and if that's the case Im just saying I personally would want a frag movie with a story-esque feel to it rather than a stv hero video (no offense Beater your vids are great) which doesnt showcase the frags in context of the tournament. Basically the i49 frag movie story, but with a bit more emphasis on the frags due to a lack of human footage. Admittedly I know little about how much human footage was captured and maybe enough was gathered to make an i49 style video. Also I feel like it may be harder for Kaneco to make a full fragumentary on his own (with some help from Beater) as for the i49 video Cubes and Bones BOTH worked extremely hard on it for a potentially longer time than the timeframe Kaneco has layed out.

considering how many worthy frags there were at this LAN it might be worth making 2 or 3 separate videos. it's easier to watch 3 7 minute videos than 1 20 minute one and it would also mean that you could release part 1 in 2 months rather than taking 6 months to finish the whole gargantuan thing

this is a bit off topic but does anyone have the outro video they played at the end of i55 TFTV stream?

Alright, so here are some of my thoughts on how we can get this video done in the most efficient way possible:
1. We need to get our hands on and sort all of the stv demos from the event. Multiplay is usually pretty good at releasing these in a timely manner and in the past people have been quick to catalog them, so I'm not too worried about this one.
2. We need to get our hands on as many pov demos as possible. Harassing players until they give you the demos is probably the only course of action here. There's a thread already for the purpose uploading demos, but you know people are going to be lazy. There are of course also frags from the lower teams during the group stages. I'm not sure if Kaneco would be interested in these, but it would pretty much be up to those players to submit their frags, I guess.
3. The camerawork was amazing when it came to spotting highlights, so I honestly think re-watching the casts and noting down the map timer of a play is more efficient than going through the demos. We'd then convert the time into ticks and go through the demo to make sure the ticks line up properly, as well as look through the killstreaks that the logs so neatly highlight (I'm pretty sure the stream missed a lot of the killstreaks in favor of airshots). I believe comp.tf links to the logs for every match, which should make things a lot more convenient.
4. I keep saying we, because I'd really like some help with all of this. I'm thinking of making a google document or something of the sort where anyone (or invites) can edit it with their observations. Crowd-sourcing is great, at least in theory.
I really believe that if we structure this properly we could have everything done in like a month or something
