It would be nice if the Saloon team was a little bit more transparent, it's getting a bit out of hand how you have to wait 3-5 days to take your winnings. As it is, it makes it quite difficult to bet on a game, and then take the profit and use in a different game. At least do what other betting websites do, and let you use the profits of your won matches on other games without having to take them out through a bot, and put them back on.

Thanks for letting us know about these issues. Unfortunately the number of people with access to the database / who can handle problems like this is limited and due to time-zone issues I'm not sure when they'll be back on. I have notified everyone I can; there isn't much more I can personally do, unfortunately.

The point about transparency is a very good one, we're currently discussing ways of being more open about when we're having difficulties, possibly a more active twitter or more frequent posts in this thread (maybe both?). We are trying our best, however. As geel said above, when the website is fully transferred over things should run much more smoothly. Hasn't everyone and Cherry tried already? What exactly is going on guys? Did giraffe create the match, the only one I know adds esea matches? Is it going to take people working on it or are the people that can do it not available? Because I saw giraffe in a pug on DanceNumber's stream earlier today. If this is a people problem or if it's glitched is what I want to know and I'm just curious because if it is a people problem I don't know how. Who else could fix the glitch if Cherry couldnt fix it?

Cherry said he was going to try to fix it today. I suppose the problem proved more difficult than anticipated / he thought he fixed it.

Brooky, giraffe and I both add ESEA matches. Froyo vs. TSU was added by brooky. However, that is not really relevant. We have access to adding and editing teams, leagues, and matches. We don't have access to the database or website code. We don't have any ability to work with the bots. Like I said: the only people who can do anything about this are currently offline or at the very least not responding to messages in slack, which could mean busy with work, I suppose, if someone has a night shift that I don't know about.

Like I said above I don't believe giraffe can do anything about the issue. The match is glitched in some way, it could be any number of things relating to steam trade message errors, bots being logged off / unable to transfer items, some coding issue I'm unaware of, etc. The people with the knowledge and ability to trouble-shoot this problem are offline currently. We will continue to do our best to resolve this issue, our apologies.

It's still very WIP and not functional ATM, but once it's done we'll have numerous improvements, including instant match verification and much smoother item handling.

Note that this is a complete, total code rewrite of the site in an entirely new language. We felt it would be best for maintainability moving forward with Saloon to do it in this way.

No words.. This is a volunteer job and nobody should blame giraffe for playing instead of doing anything you expect him to do. He has no obligation to do anything and I don't even think it's in his scope. It's enough I had to get an alt to be able to play CS:GO while I was working on Saloon so people won't bug me during mms/doublemixes.

As for the payout problem not being fixed since I'm getting too many adds and emails titled "I CAN'T GET MY ITEMS FROM A CLOSED MATCH".

I quit TF2 to be able to enjoy my regular life and not be stressed the whole time. I'm the only one able to fix this shit, and no it's not extremely hard, but you can imagine that I had better things to do on Friday night and no adding me everywhere won't make me want to go home to fix shit ;) Even if it means you'll get your items one or two days later, but you'll get them. Just write a support ticket and your problem will be eventually resolved.
The fact that I'm still fixing stuff doesn't mean I'm the guy to add for whatever problem you have, cause to be honest the more I'm being assaulted by angry betters the more tired I'm with Saloon and less I care.

I was confused because I thought the man was stating it was a people problem, the right people haven't been on to handle it, but I thought everyone that could do it had already tried including the former owner of the site and, what i thought was, he creator of the bet. I dont know what goes on behind the scenes but when it was said they didnt have the right people because of time slots I didnt know who that could be since everyone tried and I was a bit worried if it would ever be able to be fixed. To whoever did it and tried I thank them for their work. I was not being angry nor did I want to sound mean or anything like that but I was just genuinely curious what exactly could be going on and I have zero beef with giraffe or anyone.

I'd like to confirm something very important.

Due to to the nature of the rewrite along with security reasons, we will not be continuing to use the old Saloon.tf bots. What this means is that there will have to be a transitional period:

-Initially, we will have "beta.saloon.tf" and the current saloon.tf. In this initial stage, new matches will only be placed on beta.saloon.tf, and saloon.tf will only be available for withdrawing your items.

-After some time, we will switch saloon.tf to be old.saloon.tf, and beta.saloon.tf will become the official saloon.tf. Any unwithdrawn items will be available for withdrawing on old.saloon.tf after this period.

We will keep old.saloon.tf around for as long as possible, but at some point it too will have to be retired. We will make it abundantly clear when all of these periods are and what you need to do to withdraw items.

This will not happen for a while. At present, https://saloon.tf as it is is still the premier place to bet on TF2 matches. It will be incredibly clear when this transitional period has begun; there is absolutely no risk associated with continuing to use saloon.tf as it is now
