The obvious first step is to find out what mouse model it is.
Go to control panel -> Devices and Printers to find that out if you're on windows; then google the mouse model to find out what dpi it has

i know there is a program that can check how much Hz your mouse is using, not sure if there is one with DPI but if there it that could be very helpful for office mice i have.

your mouse should be listed as HP-something; if not go to device manager and see if it's listed there

You can use the Enotus MouseTest software, press mouse1 and then move your mouse at any direction in 10 cm then release the button
10 cm is around 4 inches

#9 is half decent. You can also do it in MS paint if you make sure your windows mouse settings are normal: 6/11 notch, enhance precision disabled. Move mouse an inch, how far did you go, round to the nearest 100 (or to 450 if you have something with that weird DPI step)

Download an analysis tool (sisoft sandra, aida64 etc) and find out what your mouse is.
Alternatively, check the bottom of your mouse for any sort of ID or model number.
