Thoughts? This means ESL, ESEA, and DreamHack are now all owned by the same company.

If DreamHack cares enough to feature TF2 at Lan this is probably a good thing!

That's my thoughts. Truth be told I could have seen TF2 piggybacking on the ESL One CS tourny if we had more players right now. You never know they might anyways.

So what does this mean for esea players? Will there be a lot of big changes?

Why wouldn't ESL give boot to tf2 league that isn't even profitable?
Only reason esea tf2 is still a thing is thanks to lpkanes love/hate relationship towards tf2.

tf2 is profitable depending on the amount of teams that sign up with no LAN

of course I'm not taking into account tf2 admins and client development which probably makes it unprofitable

Does this mean that esea is going to be dissolved and ESL will just take ESEA's tech and have ESL be a NA CS league?

The move will not affect the ESEA brand or community, which will continue in their current form, with the extant team continuing to drive the operation.

the worst part about this deal is that Pansy and Deman will be casting every huge event for both EU and NA

fatswimdudedidnt esl merge with esea before S20? what's the difference between that and this?

That was just a joint collaboration between the two for the Professional division. ESL and ESEA still had separate leagues.

Sweden is taking over

Schweppestfw ESL now almost has a monopoly on pro CSGO

no wonder mlg suddenly gets to host the next major

MTG a Swedish media group that owns a 74% share of ESL and recently bought dreamhack controls esports now (so not really ESL with the monopoly).

MLG and a handful of smaller companies I guess are the only ones left independent. [*]
