I've been wanting a G-Sync monitor for a while, and $519 for this refurbished ASUS 1440p monster seems like a good deal. Thoughts?

$80 dollars off a $600 monitor doesn't seem like a huge deal to be honest

wouldn't be surprised if you could get a brand new one for around the same price come cyber monday

If you want something that badly, and you have the money, odds are you're going to end up buying it. What monitor do you use now, it might not be that much of an upgrade.

Right now I'm using a BenQ XL2420T, so a 1080p 120Hz monitor with no G-Sync. I also have a 1440p ASUS monitor, but its only 60Hz, so I don't game on it.

G-Sync is only really good for smoothing out games that run at 20-60FPS.

Once you get above that there's not much point.

I have a PG278Q and G-Sync operates between 30-144hz. That being said, it's really not good for competitive games where you want the minimum possible input lag. Honestly I don't even notice tearing at 144hz anymore.

Unless you play a lot of single-player games, just keep your current monitor.
