Isn't this almost the exact thing that fucked over NA CS like 8 years ago? I forget what the league was called but the one that paid fata1lity like 300k/year

looks pretty cool! it will be interesting to see if moving to tv is the right decision as they will reach a bigger audience but a smaller portion of their TARGET audience. its a good thing everything is being streamed as well as broadcasted on tv.

There was a lot more that went into CGS being completely terrible; the timers didnt really allow for real set plays on T and teams were forced to have players in all the games to participate, overall it just didnt make for interesting spectating.
As long as they treat it like a CS league that happens to be on TV and not a tv-tailored league for CS it should be fine

according to the article cgs folded because the directv guy that had rights to broadcast on the 101 left directv so they couldnt broadcast anymore, idk if it was bad or not though
cgs was terrible. this has the potential to be a little less terrible but it'll still 100% be a failure in the eyes of the network. Nobody watches broadcast TV anymore. if it's not streamed online their viewership numbers will be godawful. They're going in the wrong direction with this. Esports doesn't need to get on tv. tv is a dying medium.
Now ESL is gonna match it with their million dollar tourney u just watch

Computer>Tv Its cool that tbs is recognizing esports as a Sport but tv isnt the greatest decision they should just sponsor some big esport league and have TBS Commericals for esea/esl, MLG, or dreamhack.

www.e-league.comFor the first time in gaming history, in addition to over 30 hours of weekly competition streamed live digitally, eSports will be exhibited regularly on a fully-distributed national television platform, TBS
Sounds like it'll be online and on TV, which is pretty much ideal. Two platforms = more reach, even if TV isn't ideal for esports. Anyway, sounds pretty cool to me, we'll see if they screw it up but it might be an actual way to introduce my Dad to esports which would be neat.
