People are assholes, idk what would justify this kind of behavior in an otherwise friendly community.

The problem is, you're addressing this letter to people who are assholes in the first place. They probably won't give a shit and keep acting as immature as before.

You should simply ignore any friend requests that are not from people you know, and when you cast/stream, have a decent mod that removes trolls from chat, or just ban all of them individually if needed. I don't see why anybody should have to be bullied out of his own stream by people who are freeloading on his content.

I'm really sorry about everything that's happened to you. I hate when people use autism or other illness insults to put down other people. Usually that means they're immature and don't fully understand the weight of what they're saying. Either that or they have some issues they themselves need to work through. Ignore them and do your own thing. Unfortunately the world is generally not a nice place and that includes the Internet.

I think I should have gone to find you and say hi but I found it quite hard to approach people alone so I stayed at my desk most of the time. I did try to look for you but I didn't know what you looked like and my friends who were with me were doing other things.

The world doesn't take you into consideration and demanding that it does is a fruitless endeavor. You're the one that needs to change. Start seeing what everyone says about you as criticism no matter how rude or hurtful it may seem. I've never heard you cast but if your voice is genuinely funny sounding and people are being rude don't take it personally--instead see it as an indicator that you need to improve your speech, it might take some therapy but it can be done. Or you overcompensate in other areas of casting that make your voice irrelevant. If you're casting was genuinely amazing there would few people giving you shit about your voice. If people are misinterpreting you during discussion don't take it personally, perhaps you need to work on phrasing your arguments.

No matter how rude or hurtful someone is, we need these people in our lives. They poke holes into our ideas, make us question ourselves and most importantly they teach us to manage our emotions and feelings; they keep us up to snuff and in some weird way we should be thankful.

Look dude, I'm honestly sorry about this shit. It cannot be fun getting shittalked all the time by people who should honestly be acting better. I'm always amazed that the community which raised 200k for kids with cancer can have its own toxic tumors in it. People hop on the "fuck this guy" train because they think it's funny to make a meme out of hating someone. People are nice at LAN because they don't have that monitor between you and them. It's easier for them to see that they're talking to an actual fucking person, rather than an alias. That disconnect of humanity online is why competitive games can get toxic, why forums can be a horrible place to be, and why people are so keen to witch hunt.

However, the nice thing about being online is you can just choose to ignore shittalkers. There are people in the community who really seem to like you, so just hang around them, and fuck the rest. Life is way too fucking short to get caught up in what childish adults feel the need to say on the internet. You honestly don't seem like a bad dude. You have differing opinions that some people view as misled, but who gives a flying fuck. At the end of the day, it's your opinion, it doesn't make you a horrible person; only actions can define that imho. The people who are assholes are the ones using a fucking mental illness against you. That is honestly disgusting.

Try to take a step back and ignore the negativity. Tell the assholes to gargle down a cornucopia of dicks, and ignore them. Surround yourself with the people who like you.

i have no idea what thats like to deal with on a daily basis but u should spend more time interacting with professionals who can help you and who know what theyre doing rather than people on the internet if this back-and-forth actually fucks with u that much

Fair enough but i'm fairly certain that today is one of the only days i've said i'm autistic on forums. I think everyone knew already but I never really went around telling people or posting it because I try not to let it control my actions and I am a little ashamed of it. I have probably said some things I shouldn't have said mainly because I want to be part of a discussion even if I don't know what i'm talking about. I just made this post after getting a lot of people adding me after making some posts on here and then casting on sunday. I got really upset with all the people adding me and wanted to make this post to clear things up so people won't hate me so much.

Honestly mate, like people before me have said, you need a thicker skin. People on the internet are immature shitheads and they'll do immature shithead things. Dont let it get to you. If you show weakness you'll only encourage them. There are two ways you can handle this. Curl up in the fetal position and cry about how a bunch of irrelevant text boxes on the internet were mean to you, or stand the fuck up and show them that it doesn't get to you.

Honestly, the perfect example here is sideshow. Look at the way the community treats him and look at the way he reacts. He shrugs it off, makes jokes at his own expense and people end up liking him for it.

For the record, I've been questionably diagnosed as autistic by a psychiatrist. When asked about my options and whether I wanted extra help thru college and highschool, I responded, "No, I don't want a crutch and I want to seem as normal as possible while still being me." While this was my choice, and you can choose to deal with autism how you wish, just realize no one is going to sympathize with you over something like that, when clearly you are capable of communicating and having a relatively normal life. You aren't hemorrhaging internally and you aren't dying of any particular disease as far as I'm aware.

I was bullied every day of my education until college. I was a scrawny, effeminate korean boy with long hair and piercings. I also have a penchant for being dismissive with people who don't interest me and I tend to over or under articulate. You are going to be picked on if you are different, you're going to be picked on if you are unpleasant. If you are both, you either better become thick skinned enough to take it or change something so you have less insults to endure.

Finally, yeah it's pretty messed up when people add you just to insult you, and it isn't fun to be humiliated on stream, but honestly, if you think that you should be exempt to these things and don't do some self-examination, you're clearly not understanding how the world works, and autism to blame or not, you have to begin trying to figure it out at some point.

I have never once insulted or even talked to you, I know you exist from the forums and by keeping a passing interest in ETF2L. What I can honestly say is you play a decent Scout, and you seem to have a rather attention hungry personality. You're also quick to burn bridges and slow to admit you're in the wrong. And you state some very unpleasant opinions so proudly and then act like everyone else is ridiculous for not being okay with it.

And all of that is fine only if you are okay with it. The moment you post a thread like this asking people to let you be, that's the moment where it becomes cringe-worthy and the only thing members of the community can really do is A) try and explain to you what you really should have figured out, or B) jump on the bandwagon, you've just shown just how easily it is to get under your skin.
