Recently I've been feeling as if my motivation for playing TF2 and other games has dropped significantly. I feel as if my skill level has depleted to what it was more than a year ago and it's making it really hard to want to play a lot and scrim with my team. It feels like there's a huge brick wall in front of me, preventing me from improving. I feel like I'm dragging my team down with how little I do in scrims and such, and I feel really bad about it. Was just kind of wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to do in my current situation.. Like if anyone else has gone through this and what they did to conquer the situation.
Thanks.
(oh also i have no clue which category this should go under so its going in off topic.. :p)

whenever I lack motivation in tf2 I drink caffeine (probably not the best solution) and sometimes I change my crosshair, hud, or hitsound to mix things up
if none of that works try just taking a break

stop playing the game for an extended period (a few months) and you will either find something you like more than tf2 or come back and feel more fresh in game

It's winter break, your normal habits of going to school and talking to school pals is nonexistent. You've ran out of activities. This means the only thing you can do at the moment is play more games but you've already played a ton since you have all this free time. This puts you in a state of directionless which you may not be familiar with. You feel like your life is meaningless at the current moment due to nothing happening and a long break in typical habits.
You won't die, just find other fun things to do. Gaming provides high level of stimulation that can't be replaced with most real life activities. Try a fun hobby you think you'd never do, you just might surprise yourself.

this was a big factor in my loss of interest
anything above like ~15 hrs in the past 2 weeks drains my interest in tf2 thus making me play worse.
plus playing less makes the game more fun imo

Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate it. Uninstalled the game this morning so that I can't play it even if I really have the urge to. Gonna try taking a month or so off from playing and see how I feel afterwards.
