i'm lookin for a new laptop for cheap, doesn't have to play games, but that would be a bonus.

Sennheiser HD598 for $99:
i've had these for about a year now and i love them; the sound quality is great and they are super comfortable since they cup over the ears.

things to note:
they have very little bass. so if you like bass u might wanna stay away from these. my external soundcard allows me to add some bass, though.
they're open ear headphones. outside noise does travel through. if you have a loud house or gaming environment, this may bother you. you could turn ur volume up super loud i guess, but that hurts my ears and experience personally.

for 99$ its a great buy if you have the $ to spare

those are more or less priced in order of popularity; the different ohm versions have subtle differences in how they sound and the 80 ohm is usually what people go for because it's generally going to sound better than the 32 but isn't as hard to drive as the 250s are. 770s are ok but I'd look around at the other phones in that price range and see what ones are going to suit the music you listen to best (head-fi is probably going to be a better place to poke around for that than here)
