regarding static electricity, dont work on a carpet and touch something metallic before opening your case.
The rest should be pretty straightforward.

After you unplug the power cord from your computer hit the power button to make sure there isn't any phantom power

Put in the MoBo first then connect the hardware, use the cable management of the case to the full extent.

-hope that your motherboard isn't to big
-Remember to put the back plate in before the motherboard.
-take this time to clean out your fans and heatsinks
-don't forget standoffs
-put the psu in before any other major components and run the cables
-put any case fans in that you may want to add

their's alot of little things that can make it SO much easier when transferring cases

Take you're time and be careful and you will be good. Don't wear socks, and avoid wearing wool, silk, and synthetic clothing while rebuilding your pc.

Use the motherboard standoff screws and use the right screws to screw in motherboard, you don't want to short your motherboard. Regarding static, don't wear socks, and build on like a table or hardwood floor. A static wristband is not necessary. If you need to troubleshoot, remember to check that your power button is working (in my case this was the problem lol). I would also clean out dust and crap from components while you have them out of the case.

I've always heard that compressed air is a pretty good method, and that has worked for me.

there are dust removers wich are essentially spray cans with air and a little tube that work very well
alternativelly you can use an airbrush with no ink if you happen to own one

check (and maybe write down) the pin layout on your motherboard for the front panel connectors, especially if you don't have the motherboard manual. It's very fiddly to connect up if you're not sure which tiny wire goes where once the motherboard's already in the new case.

How do I know the pci 8 pin vs the motherboard 8 pin? I don't wanna fry my motherboard and I'm pretty confused

pretty sure 99% of motherboard auxiliary power connectors are 4 or 6 pin? either way there should be labels or a diagram somewhere on the PSU

Well most people I've found seem to say it's either 4 or 8 (2 4 pins I think). My mobo is a 4 pin for power BUT my power supply has an 8 pin that I think can fit into the eps power thing

but that video says putting a pci e 8 pin into the 4 pin fries the motherboard so I want to make sure it isn't a pci e 8 pin

One of the parts from the 4 + 4 connector should go to the 4 pin connector on the motherboard, It might say ATX or 12v on the connector. The connectors with 6 pins or 6 + 2 would go to the GPUs.

Thanks alright I'll try and power it up. One more question thanks a lot so far. So the USB 3.0 adapter thing that makes all of them work - yeah I don't have one of those and I only have 1 USB thing from the case and I'm not really sure how to get the front panel ones to all work. Any advice? I have this case. Bought a really big one so I can keep building the next 5 years

Your motherboard might not have the connector for the USB 3 front panel connectors. It should be a blue connector like this and say USB 3 by it.

The USB 2 connects are smaller black connectors that should plug in right at the bottom of the motherboard. like this, there should be a second one from the case, I have the same case and both of mine work.

yeah I don't have the USB 3 connector on my mobo but the case has one. I have only 1 thing for usb 2s so I guess I only get 1 USB to work from the front panel?

Alright so I decided to hook it all up and power it on. I have all the power stuff I need to the mobo. The green onboard light comes on but no signs of anything actually turning on. No fans no noises literally nothing but that onboard light. My case doesn't lightup either

maybe a problem with the front panel connector? I followed the directions and positions perfectly...

Both of them might work through the one connector. I've only got the one connected on my 760T and both the USB 2 ports work for me.

are you sure the ON button is plugged in correctly? The green light usually comes on as long as the PSU is switched on.

yeah I'm pretty sure the psu and mobo are hooked up right. There's a 4pin that's plugged into the 8 pin thing we talked about above and I have the big one on the right plugged in correctly. PSU is switched to on

only one part of the 4 + 4 (it should separate into two sets of 4 pins) should be plugged into the 4 pin socket on the motherboard btw if that's not how you've done it
