it should split in two down the middle and then one half will fit in the 4 pin socket.

yeah you're right OK I split it. Still no turning on...So the problem has to be with that front panel right? What else could it be. Thanks a lot for everything you've done so far btw

It looks to be all wired up correctly, I really can't see any reason for it not to be working

If you're certain everything is in the proper spot, I'd unplug each part and connector and reseat it all to make sure nothing is loose. Also double-check the standoffs.

If everything is snug, one of the parts or connectors may be bad. I recently had some trouble when changing my mobo, turns out of the USB connectors was faulty and prevented the PC from powering on. I had to remove everything then test each part and connector one-by-one to finally find the faulty connection. It's fine without that connector plugged in, but troubleshooting was tedious.

I took everything out just now that I believe could be the problem (Mobo power, cpu stuff, gpu, front panel stuff) and I got nothing. The only new part in here is the 970 I just put in. All of these parts were working last night so the psu and stuff probably didn't shit itself?

What about the standoffs should I check?

could it be a fan problem?

Just make sure the standoffs are aligned and in the right spots.

Yeah, assuming you get activity with just the PSU connected to the motherboard, just unplug literally everything and add things back one at a time, powering on after each part has been added. Once it doesn't power on after something new was connected, you'll find the issue (fan, connector, etc.).

If you haven't come across this yet yourself, this checklist also has a few good ideas for further troubleshooting your issue: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1893016/post-system-boot-video-output-troubleshooting-checklist.html

well im not a computer expert but I think you may have your power and reset switches backwards, going off the mobo manual on page 1.

Backwards as in like reversed as in they need to have their positions swapped

or as in they need to be rotated cause I rotated sides a few times

It looks like you have a 2-pin connector plugged into the top right. From the manual, that space should be for a 4-pin speaker connector, and the 2-pin should be in the bottom row - it's one of IDE_LED/PWRSW/RESET.

Try pulling all the connectors and shorting the pins with a screwdriver to start it.

I think the top 2 pin is the reset and bottom 2 pin there is the power? I think

Also if anyone needs any more pics of anything in my computer please ask if you think you might have a solution

I think it was correct in your earlier pictures.
You might try removing all the connectors and very very carefully shorting the power connectors (and only them) for a moment - i.e. briefly connect the pins that are in 4/5 spaces from the right on the bottom row with something like a screwdriver. (edit: like Screwball said >.>)

Ok I'll try that sometime today. And yeah I guess when I did it for like the 5th time last night I had one in the wrong place but don't worry it didn't work in the right place anyway

Had a computer guy over today and he took a look, rewired everything did a screwdriver test ETC.

Verdict : Fried Motherboard or PSU - which kinda sucks but at least I'm getting an upgrade out of it

Thanks everyone for the help I really appreciate all the advice I got for wiring it
