As of my first time messing with demo recording, i noticed a very bad stutter that happens during the demo playback. It isn't an issue with my ping nor my fps, for as both stayed very optimal while i was playing, so i suppose it's a problem in the demo somehow....just don't know what it is exactly
a video to demonstrate:

i can give more info, just don't know what. so if anyone cares to help me with this, ask away.

lol slawer, try using a different lerp, also limit fps. Might help.

lerp was 9.9, and fps was capped at 120. i don't think those are the problem either, it happens in demos with different lerps and different fps caps....

Does it happen with others' demos?
Does it happen with others' demos?
Ash_Does it happen with others' demos?
it's inconsistent. some have it very lightly, others don't have it at all, and some are as bad as you saw it in the video...i have no clue why

cl_interpolate 1? or try setting to 0 and then 1 again while playing the demo

It's based on network jitter as you're recording a demo. Even if you have a completely playable and enjoyable experience while actually playing the game, this sort of shit will still get recorded into the demo file. I'm not sure if demos were ever really designed to work on multiplayer games.

in CSGO this problem is "solved" by setting host_timescale to 0 but it broke the sound but fixed the demo playback so I had to re-record audio only + sync
outside of that try doing a clean -autoconfig + mess with interp settings, I remember this being a huge problem but I ended up just putting in a bunch of random variables until it worked and never documented which ones ^^
