progressive trance differs from classical trance because classical trance is more like house music in terms of structure than "progressive" trance which usually has some kind of structure
The funny part is that usual "prog" trance structure is a lot like normal rock music structure, which is what progressive/avant-garde rock were trying to get away from.
real avant-garde trance is fucking cool though. freeform hardcore is one of my favorite genres.

EDM by far is one of the best genres of music.
