Hello TF.TV. I'm StaticVoid, you most likely know me for my work on voidHUD, but for the past couple of months I have been working on this HUD, boredHUD. Basically this HUD came to be because I was extremely bored, hence the name, obviously. Anyway, I had a HUD concept and I ran with it, and I must admit, I really like how it came out in the end. I am very happy to finally release it publicly and hopefully you all can enjoy it as well.
Anyway, here are some links:

The main menu image is astonishing.
The main menu image is astonishing.
SkragThe main menu image is astonishing.
Yeah, I basically stole it from Google Images and turned it into a vtf. I wanted to use a royalty free image from like NASA or something, but they were all too low of quality. Hopefully whoever owns the copyright won't come after me.

Check out http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html if you want a high quality space image.
If you are concerned about copywrite law, from their about page
All the images on the APOD page are credited to the owner or institution where they originated. Some of the images are copyrighted and to use these pictures publicly or commercially one must write to the owners for permission. For the copyrighted images, the copyright owner is identified in the APOD credit line (please see the caption under the image), along with a hyperlink to the owner's location. NASA images are in the public domain, official guidelines for their use can be found here. For images credited to other owners/institutions, please contact them directly for copyright and permissions questions.
Neither NASA nor APOD can grant permission to use copyrighted images. For use of these images, please write to the copyright owners.
although to be honest I don't think anybody is going to sue you over using one of their images in a non-commercial setting that a relatively small amount of people will ever see.

Huh, thanks for that share. The NASA site I looked at for images had a maximum of 1280x720 resolution, which would look really bad if stretched to 1080p or 1440p. I'll keep that link bookmarked just in case any copyright mumbo jumbo appears out of the blue.

looks super nice
the red and blue in the scoreboard (top) looks super saturated, maybe consider toning that back a bit? esp since everything else is sort of washed out like the blue/red line under the hp etc?
also can you do the thing that makes it so that you can hit e to continue when you first join a server
also the call vote/create server buttons look sort of out of place, but maybe that's just me being nitpicky
this actually looks really amazing, great job

The top of the scoreboard is actually a custom red and blue color, while the lines under the player health are the background panels that go behind the health in the stock HUD, so I will look into either making the scoreboard color lighter, or making them the panels as well.

They're more or less a seperator. They go between the items that change from when you're in the main menu to when you're in-game, and they act to seperate the top items from the items on the bottom that don't change. (excluding the minmode toggler).
this actually looks really amazing, great job[/quote]
And finally, thank you very much.
RhettroIt's so blocky
What can I say? I love Minecraft.

I added all the necessary changes for the new matchmaking update released yesterday and the patch released today.
Snag the HUD from here:
https://github.com/TheStaticVoid/boredHUD
I also updated voidHUD2.0, however I don't feel it right to bump my other thread for it because it would just seem somewhat rude.

Ok ok, so I missed a LOT of things in my HUD update. I went back and w/ the help of a demo file, fixed most of the issues left with the HUD. I'm not sure if Valve has fixed HUDs/custom things breaking the game, but the HUD should be matchmaking ready now.
You can get the DL for both boredHUD and voidHUD in the post above this one. They are both updated to the best of my ability, so as a HUD creator, you can check the commits and see what changed.

I was looking through the files to animate a hud crosshair that I installed, and I didn't see a hudanimations_tf folder, but multiple other ones. Was this intended? And if so, where would I put the code for event damaged player? I'm using the most up to date version of your hud also (3.1.2016)

There isn't a hudanimations_tf.txt file because the hudanimations_manifest.txt calls for which animations files to be loaded. This is to make sure that any future updates to hudanimations_tf in the stock HUD will not break this HUD. If you would like to add a hud crosshair animation, you can make a hudanimations_crosshair.txt file, and put the whole eventdamaged player or whatever in it. Then just call the file in hudanimations_mainfest.txt
