Hitsound volume?

I just switched to the Tribes Ascend hitsound but it's really quiet. I've tried adjusting tf_dingaling_volume in game and in my configs but it doesn't change the value, it just stays at 1. Anyone know how to get tf_dingaling_volume to work or to make the hitsound itself louder? I use m0re's highframes config.

Download goldwave or any other audio tweaking software and tweak the actual .wav file. This is what I've had to do for both my FUCK THE POLICE and IS IT THE SHOES hitsounds since the actual in-game hitsound volume control is pretty exceptionally limited.

i played two rounds of mge with the IS IT THE SHOES hitsound and lost both because i couldn't stop laughing
