Mic problem

So I had this problem with my mic, When i used mumble the other day my mic it did not work but when i tried using my webcam mic it works fine but when i try using my headset with a mic it does not work.. I have to literally eat the mic to speak and you cant even understand me because my mic for some reason does not hear my voice(don't know of that's the correct term) my voice... so please help..

You don't really need to bump a thread after 90 minutes..

Does the mic work in other applications outside of mumble? Did this headset work in mumble in the past? Is the volume on the mic recording control in your volume settings set reasonably / is mic selected as the active recording input? Is there an in-line mute on the headset you might have accidentally flipped on?

go to audio devices, then recording, then levels. max out the mic volume as well as mic boost.

also, check the mic in sound recorder vs your webcam mic to make sure its mumble fucking up and not the mic itself
