With the release of MM (or at least open beta) around the corner, should casual or new players be introduced to inarguably the most important mechanic in competitive? Quake, for example, has a mobility course to practise movement aspects like strafe jumping and explosive jumping to give a better introduction to the movement based game. TF2 is a movement based game, too.
Should Valve have official jump servers? What map would you recommend be given to new players in order to learn?

There's no way valve makes jump servers.

Official valve jump maps? that sounds really cool. I doubt it would happen though.

Even csgo doesnt have official surf / bhop / parkour servers, so tf2 wont get them either

although surf, bhop, and kz do help raise the skill ceiling, they aren't required to play the game at a sufficient level. there are plenty of pros at the highest level who couldnt complete the simplest surf/bhop/kz map
as a soldier or even demo, if you cant jump you are not anywhere near as effective as someone with even the most basic jumping skills

We should really be asking for DM servers

for the most basic demo (and some solly's) jumps, practicing during mixes/lobbies is enough. No jump maps are required

only thing valve would do is release a tr map for basic rocket jumping, singular wall jumps and pogos would probably be where they'd draw the line and it's better than nothing.

Maybe I was thinking more along the lines of the tutorials, how you have the soldier, demo tutorial, etc.
Obviously, for the people who actually play them, add more classes, but I'm thinking tutorials on how to jump and etc. I mean, it's better than dustbowl with bots right?
Also cirlo I don't think any of the soldier mains I know would agree with you.

hell make training give you an extra level in MM starting out and add that hall of mazes thing from quake live as well, that'd be really nice.
but some training for the finer points of a lot of the classes is getting more and more necessary as valve keeps updating the stock weapons to have more and more gimmicks and niche features. I play this game a fair amount and I'm still not very sure how heavy and demo ramp ups work, and if I didn't play pocket, shit like crit heals and uber build rates would be lost to me.
