adderall is making my BP get too high (140/90 from 115/70) so like I need to do something for my CV health but I fucking HATE running
what are some decent ways to exercise that aren't super stressful or w/e?

nah swimming and biking are better because they're lower stress on your joints, but my bike is 300 miles away and im too insecure to use the campus pool.
might try jump rope or skate boarding or smthn tho

Could try going to a local thrift shop and see if you can find a ok bike for cheap. Craigslist might be an option as well.

Yeah I agree with Comanglia, there definitely should be a cheap bicycle somewhere on craigslist or some yard sales since its warmer outside

I like doing 60 second sets of jump rope alternated with different core exercises; you'll have a 6 pack pretty fast. If you like sports I'd give tennis a try since it's light cardio and not super hard to get in to.

If the purpose of your biking is exercise rather than enjoyment then you don't even need a remotely good bike. The worse it is, the harder your average cycling will be and the more effort you'll have to put in. Pick up a $50 one from a local shop and cruise that bad boy anywhere you can think of. Cycling is sick.

This might be a little off the wall but a little over 15 years ago in my early 20's I learned a few different "Kata" routines. It is basically a system of slower movements that focus your balance and form as you move from one stance to another. I was heavy into fighting at the time so it was suggested these techniques could help me out. I found that getting into the routine can be an extremely calming experience while also "working out" in a sense. I am extremely out of practice right now and even forget a few routines but still occasionally do the ones I remember to break a sweat and freak out my cats.
I had someone teach me in person so that may be hard to find but there are likely DVD's and internet videos posted for home use without a trainer.

I was a fat loser with no self esteem when I started cycling, now I'm racing weekly and I feel so much better because of cycling. No exercise I've ever done has been as satisfying and enjoyable as cycling

Agree, I would love to use my bike again but after a while my back starts to act up so it is just gathering dust. :(

anything that gets your heart rate up is good for you, running is def not the only way and best is pretty subjective

If you have access to a gym a stair climbing machine might be good. It might just be me it's less boring than running. Plus it's a lot less sore on your joints and helps build leg muscles. I also love it post workout

I've been cycling as my main transport/exercise for 4 years now. Nothing beats spacing out in a slowly moving landscape, except going downhill when you can see the road ahead of you and pretending you have enough money to own a motorbike.
Highly recommend getting a cheap bike and just going wherever you feel like each day for 20 minutes before turning back.

The idea of wearing headphones or earbuds when cycling scares me. You need your wits about you to not get run over or crash into someone, and music doesn't help that.
