3rd DreamHack Summer Qualifier by TFCups

Sign-ups are now open for the 3rd DreamHack Summer TF2 Open Qualifier by TFCups! Register a team on Razer Arena and join the open tournament on Saturday, 7th May. Read on below for schedule, details, and format.

Congratulations first to SUAVE, who walked away last week with 1000 euros and an invitation to the DreamHack Summer TF2 LAN in June! Two places to go, two weekend tournaments to go!

Based on their placings in the 2nd Closed Qualifier, the invited teams to the 3rd Closed Qualifier on Sunday 8th May are:

To find the four teams that will join them in competing for 1000 euros and an invite to DreamHack Summer, an open tournament will again be run on Saturday, 7th May. Any team is welcome to sign up and prove themselves against our four (almost all new!) top teams from last week.

All games are BO3, and now feature map vetoes! This is a new addition to Razer Arena, and is all automated through their system. Your team leader will be able to veto and pick maps for the series, in a pick/ban/pick format from the ETF2L map pool. It is imperative that you do not forget to check in, or arrive late to a fixture! The admins will be less forgiving this time and in future cups to teams who arrive late and miss the deadline.

Saturday 7th May - Open Tournament:

21:30 CEST - Ro8

Sunday 8th May - Closed Tournament:

17:30 CEST - Quarter Finals
19:30 CEST - Semi Finals
21:30 CEST - Final

Rules

Rules mirror the ETF2L Season 23 ruleset and whitelist unless specified on the Razer Arena rule page. For the invitation to DreamHack Summer to be valid, your LAN roster must contain at least 3 of the players you used to qualify. None of the players from Perilous Gaming or SUAVE who played in the Final may enter this cup.

1. I thought dd5abs was on the brink of folding? Do they have a roster now?

2. PCMR was top4, why aren't they included? I know NameLess is a better team than them, but you were ready to put SUAVE to open qualies too (until jabronies folded) so why nL gets a "special" treatment.

I can't play on saturday. While I may sound like an egoistic cunt, I feel I'm a big part of the team and it's hard to replace me, especially on saturday when most people can't play.

dd5abs got beaten in quarterfinals so surely their confirmed spot is no longer valid?

That too. I can understand it a bit because PCMR got a BYE and thus doesnt actually have real wins to prove their invite worthy but our game vs Publiclir was pretty close (1-2 in maps) so it could have gone either way.

Signups looking pretty fucking dire, this also means decent chance of snagging the big 1k euros if anyone chooses to play now.

I know everyone's distracted with Overwatch and deciding whether or not to uninstall tf2 but I would really appreciate more than 5 teams playing in the cup :)

Due to lack of signups tonight there will just be a single ro8 at 21:30cest, not 21:45cest

Also note the changes in times for the playoffs, 2 hours per fixture rather than 2 hours and 15 minutes. That means the quarter finals start at 17:30CEST and the grand finals start at 21:30 CEST.
