If anyone's awake for this, Thaiger Uppercut has started on https://www.twitch.tv/teamsp00ky
Brackets: http://challonge.com/users/tgu
Expect a lot of familiar asian players here. Notable players are Gamerbee, KSK, Shiro, Humanbomb, Gackt, Itabashi Zangief, Haitani, Jiewa, Goichi, Santarou, gootecks (as a player), and Marn. Lots of asian talent in here (plus gootecks) so this should give a good idea of how South East Asia and some other players are doing. I'm predicting GamerBee, Haitani, and Santarou as top 3.
Enjoy!
The winner of Thaiger Uppercut is Eita. 2nd place goes to Saunic with his marvellous Laura play taking out GamerBee in the process. Following GamerBee is Go1 who made an appearance at Final Round and has come to Thaiger Uppercut for them points. Rounding out top 4 is RZR| Gackt who is showing off his consistency as a fighting game player.
Edit: Apparently Dreamhack Austin also started today but I don't really know when. Looks like today was mostly just pools anyway.
Bracket: http://dhaustin.challonge.com/
Bracket for top 64: http://dhaustin.challonge.com/dh2k16sfvtop64
Notably Snake Eyez and brentiscool have been sent to losers. Jwong, Ricki Ortiz, Julio, will2pac, alucard, PR Balrog, Chris T, Nuckledu, Hsien Chang, KBrad, Fchamp, Tampa Bison, and LPN are sitting comfortably in winner's side but with this many strong players in winners we're going to see many of them get knocked down into losers. Specifically KBrad vs. Hsien Chang is likely, as well as Nuckledu vs. Ricki Ortiz. We could also potentially see a runback between Chris T and PR Balrog, one which Chris T currently sits at 1-0 against Rog at Westcoast Warzone where he took it over Rog to win the tournament.
twitch.tv/dreamhackfighters will be the stream.
Expect the typical American players to show up like the WNF boys (Julio, Chris T), the EG gang, (PR Balrog, Ricki Ortiz, Justin Wong) and more like Nuckledu, LPN, alucard (minus Jiewa this time since he's at Thaiger Uppercut).
The winner of DHA is Justin Wong who is further cementing his place as the current top USA player. He dominated the series aside from a very close 3-2 match against FChamp's Dhalsim. Grand Finals was a bit of a wash with Jwong taking it over 2nd place Nuckledu very convincingly. Saionide rounds off the top 3, although at a crushing defeat at Nuckledu's hands.
Next week will be the Australian tournament and quite frankly with Stunfest being a week right after. I can see some South East Asian players making an appearance but any international level player will be at Stunfest most likely.

LeyrAppreciate the work push. Did you see that Xian won a tourney recently? I didn't see which one but apparently he did it with Fang
Yep I referenced it in a previous post.
pushIn other news Kuwait Battle Arena happened already and Xian is the winner of that tournament. And he's still using FANG...
Good for him. I still think SFV is going to be a solid game for Xian but he's still trying to gimmick people out with FANG (he has actually admitted to this in an interview) so most likely around CEO or EVO Xian will bust out his real character.
I'm betting on Vega to be his true main. Or maybe he will pick someone up down the line like Urien. Who knows.

Something to note so far during the Capcom Pro Tour is the characters for each region.
So far Europe is in favor of both Laura and Dictator (M. Bison). Saunic taking 2nd at Thaiger Uppercut and will2pac making top 8 at DHA support my statement with Mister Crimson winning an event with Laura as well. Problem X is currently the only high ranking Dictator player but I'm sure Gagapa is also playing Dictator as he did so in SF4. Phenom winning FrogByte further cements Dictator's place in the hearts of Europe.
North America is most likely to use the same type of characters they always have. These being Guile and Dhalsim. There is also a large amount of Kens represented by "the Trinity" of California which consists of: brenttiscool, Chris Tatarian, and EchoFox | Julio.
Japan has taken a liking to Ryu with Bonchan, Tokido, and Daigo all playing him. Their use of Chun Li is present as well with many Japanese 3rd Strike players using her such as Nuki and MOV. The rest of Asia is fairly mixed however.
South America I can't really say seeing as the only tournament they have had so far was where Jwong and KBrad went over and just tore up the competition. There was quite a few Dictator and Necalli's in top 16 however so I would guess that these two are their characters.
These are just observations that I've picked up while watching tournaments throughout the year.
Oh and don't forget Stunfest is happening in 2 weeks. I'm probably not going to watch the Australia tournament since it's probably just going to be a couple good Asian players going to get some free points... Who knows though maybe there's some hidden talent out there for the new game.

Battle Arena Melbourne 8 is happening right now on https://www.twitch.tv/newgameplustv
The most notable players I can see are Haitani, Mago, Xian, and Momochi. Solid list of players here along with I assume the strongest Australia has to offer. Let's see who can win. I'm predicting Momochi will take it actually.
Here are the brackets: https://smash.gg/tournament/battle-arena-melbourne-8-3/brackets/13019/34393
Notable events:
Xian knocked down to loser's by Falco, a local Australian player. Good stuff AU.
MJS|Haitani is the winner of BAM8 with his brilliant Necalli play. EG|Momochi comes in 2nd place thanks to his character switch over to Karin from Ken during one of the matches. Mago takes 3rd place showing off his usual consistency while RZR|Xian rounds out the top 4 with his mystifying F.A.N.G.
Next up we have a Premier Event, Stunfest. Premier events ALWAYS attract top international players so get hype for this. Also happening at the same time is Lima Salty3 in Peru for any South Americans who would rather go to a less stacked tournament as well as Toryuken in Toronto, Canada, for the Canadians/NE Americans.

Alright guys I hope you're ready for this. 6 Tournaments including a premier in the next 10 days or so. Let's go.
First off we have Stunfest.
Notable players are going to be Luffy, Valmaster, Daigo Umehara, Nuki, GamerBee, Kazunoko, Go1, Eita, Tokido, Bonchan, Mago, Xiao Hai, Haitani, Xian, Will2pac, Fuudo, RB, Gootecks, and most likely a lot more.
This is a premier event so anyone who wins this automatically qualifies into Capcom Cup.
Honestly it's super hard to say who will take it. I would say Tokido but Nuki is sick and it's possible that Xian busts out a new character and takes everyone by surprise here. Even then we have many other top players here such as GamerBee, Luffy, and Bonchan who are no strangers to being at the top of their game.
Stream: twitch.tv/capcomfighters
Brackets: TBA
Things to note so far:
- The 2v2 tournament ended with Luffy and Bonchan taking 1st. Notably Go1 and Eita take 2nd with Eita busting out his Ken. 3rd is Mago and Tokido showing off their ever persistent consistency. After that it gets interesting: Akainu and BusterMX take 4th after Daigo and Nuki. Now I've been bad with being consistent with this but I guess right now some players still need time to fully have their grasp of the game.
Next we have ranking tournament Toryuken V in Toronto, Canada.
A ton of NA players here such as the EG crew (Jwong, Ricki Ortiz, PR Balrog, KBrad) as well as Julio and FChamp will be here trying to get some points. It seems that Justin is set on just qualifying through points which is a safe option considering his huge lead right now on the leaderboards.
Stream: twitch.tv/torontotoptiers
Brackets: TBA
After that we have ranking tournament Lima Salty 3 in Peru.
So far it looks like there are no international players here so Peru gets to have some points. I think some Chilean players are coming as well.

Hey guys sorry for the hiatus I disappeared and did school work for like 5 days straight and finished a whole highschool course.
Stunfest's winner was EG|Momochi who has completely convinced me that Momochi will probably never get washed up. Since this is a premier event, EG|Momochi has qualified for Capcom Cup. 2nd place goes to RZR|Fuudo who surprised everyone by playing a "NON RANDOM" R. Mika super well. 3rd goes to Tokido who unfortunately broke his 2nd place curse by taking 3rd. Xiao Hai takes 4th after showing brilliant reactions, which both served him well and was cause for his loss. The rest of the top 8 are Xian, Daigo, Haitani, and Eita.
Toryuken V's winner was, to nobody's surprise really, EG|Justin Wong. 2nd place goes to FOX|Julio showing off his consistency in NA tournaments. 3rd goes to PG|FChamp who, also, shows his consistency taking 3rd place for I believe the 3rd time this Pro Tour. 4th place goes to EG|Ricki Ortiz who is starting to show up as one of the best Chun Li's in the game while also sporting a solid pocket Nash. The rest of the top 8 are Dieminion, EG|PR Balrog, STDx|Blitzman, and Italdan. To note, the Canadians really stepped up here in SFV doing some damage by dropping TS|Sabin and keeping EG|KBrad outside of top 8. Makes me proud.
Lima Salty 3

who fucking cares
Mistero 1st, Chanco Kay 2nd, Pikoro 3rd, Darlan 4th. Actually I think Mistero was like top 5 in the world at KOF so maybe he's familiar to other people but I literally did not care about this event sorry there was just much better stuff going on...

Combo Breaker is happening right now on twitch.tv/teamsp00ky
Bracket: combobreaker.challonge.com
Many Americans expected to attend. The most notable ones are American EG minus PR Balrog, FChamp, LPN, Arturo Sanchez, Perfect Legend, SonicFox, LI Joe, Filipinoman, 801 Strider, Gllty, Fubarduck, Alucard, and Nuckledu.
I can easily call that Justin is probably going to take 1st. Nuckledu I think is just one step above most players as well along with FChamp and Ricki Ortiz. So I think top 4 in order is going to be Justin Wong, Nuckledu, FChamp, Ricki Ortiz. The bottom top 8 in no particular order imo is going to be SonicFox, LI Joe, Alucard, and LPN.
Japanowa will be happening sometimes this weekend as well. It also makes the NA scene fairly interesting as it seems that half of NA went to Combo Breaker and the other half went here. Notable players here are PR Balrog, Jiewa, the Trinity (Julio, Chris T, Brent), Marq Teddy, Kusanagi, and other various Mexican players that I probably don't know.
Stream: http://twitch.tv/teamlago
Brackets: TBA
The only thing standing in PR Balrog's way of winning Japanowa is the fact that the Trinity is here. Both Julio and Chris T have prevented PR Balrog from winning ranking tournaments and it's possible they could do the same here. Who knows maybe it's Brent's time to do it this time (lol). Even Jiewa, another Ken is here. Actually like half the world's best Ken's are in this tournament like really? Anyway this one is super hard to call and the only thing I can predict is PR Balrog + Trinity doing well. Kusanagi could probably do good as well.
FFM Rumble 9 will be happening as well over in Europe. Expect many strong European players such as Problem X, Phenom, Ryan Hart, Valmaster, Luffy, Will2pac, Saunic, Packz, and more.
Stream: http://twitch.tv/fight_club_nrw

Lot's of good players expected to come here. It's a tough call really. Though based off of results and such I would say it's safe to predict that Problem X will take 1st, Luffy 2nd, Saunic 3rd, and Phenom 4th. Bottom top 8 imo will be Ryan Hart, Packz, Valmaster, and Will2pac in no particular order.

Combo Breaker has ended with EG|Justin Wong taking 1st, continuing his reign of terror across the Western Hemisphere. Flash Metroid takes 2nd with his brilliant Vega play surprising many. 3rd is PG|FilipinoChamp who still can't break that 3rd place curse and 4th goes to Liquid|Nuckledu. The rest of top 8 is rounded out with EG|Ricki Ortiz, Wolfkrone, Filipinoman, and LPN
Justin is pretty much guaranteed a spot in CCC at this point so I'll add him to the list of qualified players.

Japanowa ended like last week with Chris Tatarian taking 1st place. FOX|Julio Fuentes took 2nd once again showing off his consistency in top 3. Kusanagi, a top King of Fighters Mexican player takes 3rd with Karin, a character quite a few KOF players gravitate towards to it seems. Illija rounds out the rest of top 4 with his Ryu. The other top 8 consists of CKD|Babushas, EG|PR Balrog, MJ|Goro, TL|Aioros.
FFM Rumble 9 also ended last week with GWAK.FR|CCL taking 1st, marking the CPT's first Chun Li win, a character many view as the best. GG|Halibel takes 2nd using a strange mix of both Ken and Dhalsim. ECV|Niine90 takes 3rd with a solid Nash and Fitizen rounds out top 4 with a strong Vega (Best character). The rest of top 8 was Perilous|Packz, Rize|Cobelcog, Melty|Cuongster, FA|Ryan Hart. This tournament was super weird as everyone that usually places high didn't even make it into top 8 save for Ryan Hart and Packz. Luffy, Will2pac, Valmaster, Phenom, and MisterCrimson all placing below top 8.

Aside from that we do have Tokyo Button Mashers happening right now.
This is a Japanese ranking event so the competition is almost as fierce as a premier event. Prepare for a ton of strong players here.

Some people still look at it even though they're not posting so that's enough for me to literally copy and paste everything from other sources into a more condensed thread here :)

Interesting how this is the first CPT win by a chun. Is it arguable that this is due to the dominance of top Japanese players using Ryu and Nash? A number of top players have been using her and placing high, but when you're up against Infiltration/Tokido/etc it's pretty hard to win.
In other NA news, PR Rog recently gave up on Necalli. Likely going to play Claw/Karin from now on (Until Boxer gets released obviously). Also, due to the messed up release stuff with Ibuki, there's an extremely high chance she will NOT be legal at EVO. If she is going to be, she must be released by the 15th, which is almost certainly not happening.

Honestly it's because Chun Li has a pretty high skill floor. To use her completely effectively you have to master her combos and her instant air legs. Then after mastering all that there's still the small tech with her you have to learn. Slowly but surely Chun Li will dominate. She has the most potential out of any current character by far.

Tokyo Button Mashers has ended with GGP|Kazunoko taking 1st. What an event is was too. Yukadon takes 2nd breaking into the SFV scene with his super solid Nash. RB|MCZ|Twitch|Daigo Umehara with his infinite sponsors and consistent play takes 3rd with his patented Ryu. Nemo takes 4th showing a ton of sick Vega play which I am definitely going to analyze and take from. The rest of top 8 are HM|Go1, MOV, VX, and YOUDEAL MJS|Haitani.
Kazunoko is really starting to show off his consistency in SFV so looks like any doubts I had about him had already faded. Anyone who said Capcom Cup 2015 was a fluke is obviously wrong now.

Also The Fight will be happening today as well in Columbia. A couple notable players will be attending such as PandaTV|Dark Jiewa, EG|K-Brad, Brook|ANV|ON|Misterio, and Melty|Will2pac. While it won't be as stacked as Tokyo Button Mashers it is still interesting to at least keep an eye on Latin America to see what's cooking over there.

The Fight has ended with EG|K-Brad taking 1st place with his "boo" Cammy. BROOK.ANV.ON|Misterio takes 2nd continuing to show off his dominance is the South American region. PandaTV|Dark Jiewa takes 3rd, continuing on the path to restoring himself to the international player he once was in SF4. Melty|Will2pac takes 4th as the final non-local player here. The rest of top 8 are: DT|Pikoro, Serpentaurus, PX|Rocklandkyo, and PX|Zaito.
Next week will be TWFighter Major 2016 with many asian players expected to enter. Expect fierce competition here. Moscow Fighting Arena will also be happening over in Europe so they get their share of points as well.
One thing to note is that people are worried that all the points are going to many American players because of the relative lack of competition in South America. So far only 2 people have gone down to South America for points and one of them is basically already a shoe-in for Capcom Cup. Taking another look at the schedule regardless, many American tournaments have already been completed with a couple being spread out for the rest of the year; Canada Cup, CEO, and Evo included.
One question mark right now is the supposed Brazilian event "GRT" which has a vague name, no specific location, and does not even have a marked date. If this was supposed to be this weekend then I have no idea but I can't imagine it will be interested with three premier events, plus Evo, coming up these few weeks post next weekend.

Asian ranking event, tons of really good players here. Hard to name them all but expect the usual Taiwanese, Singapore, Japanese, and Korean players here.

Man this tournament is just full of killers. Bonchan eliminated by Tonpy, Daigo gets sent to losers by Go1. The old guard is starting to dwindle guys. This is starting to look like the new generation of players breaking out. (oh and sako vs tokido right now)

Taiwan Fighter 2016 has ended with Mago taking 1st place, his first top 4 performance in CPT so far (I think). Tokido continues his 2nd place curse while YOUDEAL MJS|Haitani and Kazunoko take 3rd and 4th, respectively. The rest of top 8 consist of HORI|Sako, HM|Eita, RZR|Fuudo, and TS|Poongko. This also makes one of Poongko's higher placings at a CPT event. Also of note is Daigo and Bonchan not making it as far as many people expected them to.
We also have Moscow Fighting Arena starting on Sunday. Notable players will be PxP|Problem X, Melty|Cuongster, and Melty|Will2pac. While not the greatest of competition the matches between the 3 listed here are at least going to be interesting.

I could have sworn I already made this post.
Moscow Battle Arena ended earlier this week with RZR|Xian taking his first ranking event of the season. Some of the regular European travelers also came to play with Melty|Will2pac taking 2nd and PxP|Problem X taking 3rd. Rounding out top 4 is UM|RMZ. The rest of the top 8 are: KGB|Fidoskin, BX3.TP-Link|Veggey, Cancer, and Gr1nGo.
Soon we will have one of the best parts of the Capcom Pro Tour. 3 Premier events and ending with Evolution 2016. First off we have Dreamhack Summer as we already know is happening in a couple days. Many of us here, being a TF2 oriented website, would usually watch the event but if there is some setup time you could just pop over to the SFV stream and watch some matches if you would like.
After that is Community Effort Orlando which always attracts international level players as well as some brilliant wrestling themed entrances.
Then we have G-League which is China's first premier event. The issue with this event is that it's barely a week from Evo so it's hard to say who will go. I'm certain some Chinese players will stay, however, considering it is in fact a premier event and travel costs will be relatively low.
Finally we have the event of the year, Evolution 2016. Over 5,000 players from around the world are coming to compete in one of the most stacked events of the year. Anyone not going to G-League you could certainly find them here.
After all of this it will be quiet, with mostly ranking events until the next Premier event, the Tokyo Game Show.
Get hype.

As many of you may know, Dreamhack Summer 2016 has started for TF2. It also starts with SFV. Pools were yesterday but today we have playoffs into top 8.
Many Japanese players plus Xian have come over as part of Daigo's "Road to Evo" tour. Their next stop will be CEO but that is another time. These players include Daigo himself, Mago, Tokido, Itabashi Zangief, Momochi, Haitani, Fuudo, and more. Xian is also here opting to stay after his victory over in Russia. European attendees such as Ryan Hart, Luffy, Cuongster, Phenom, Brick, Will2pac, imstilldadaddy, and infexious are also in the playoffs.
Reminder that this is indeed a Premier Event which means whoever wins this qualifies for Capcom Cup 2016. However, if Momochi wins then the qualification spot here will instead be transferred to the global leader boards standings.
