fps troubles

earlier today i played overwatch and my fps was at about 14, which is unplayable. my friend suggested to see if there was a driver update for my graphics card, and there was one released on the 7th of june, so i downloaded it and installed it. now, my fps in any game is below 60 and spikes to 20 and sometimes the game freezes for seconds, yet the audio still plays. any help would be appreciated
edit: my graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
processor: AMD Athlon dual core 245 processor

ez bake oven is right, i had a rig like that back in 2010 and only got like 30 fps in tf2

but yeah you might've updated to a beta version of a driver

completely uninstall the current drivers and restart, then install the ones you had before

Updating drivers is for the weak, haven't done so since 2009 when I bought this gtx 260

if you didnt already i'd recommend using display driver uninstaller to do a clean reinstall of your graphics driver
