.
Well I'd hesitate to call my non paying gaming hobby a career
it's made me way less creative/motivated to do anything. i cant make videos i cant make software i cant make music if i try to do any of those i just draw a blank and give up
I have met some great people that will remain my friends for the years to come.
it taught me some endeavors are not worth it at all, no matter how many years you pour into it, especially if you play support.
edit: but HUDs will never let you down

Made me realise that bronies and weeaboos are actually real types of people. Before I thought they were just folklore and myths, like goblins and fairies.
It has helped my leadership abilities in a big way. Leading a team, requires responsibility of players, scrims, matches, getting a server, etc. Ever since I started leading a team, my teachers have said that my leadership skills improved immensly.
it's made me hate weaboos and furries because i had never met one before and now i see them all the time and have to deal with them
it swallows up time and spits out nothing in return but salty tears
it helped me focus my life pretty much everything started improving once I quit wow for this game
It made me realize that no matter how many thousands of hours you put into a game, that doesn't mean you'll actually be good at said game.
I realized life has no point and the only happiness I will ever achieve is that I receive from death

I used to be a big rager and having to handle losses as well as manage people taught me to be calmer.
Also it helped me to speak english (more) correctly.

i got better at chilling out after long days of work/class, and i have something to joke around about with my friends who play "serious" esports

It's made me a more social person and I find it easier to talk to people now. I also don't feel as lonely any more because I met so many cool people through competitive that I can talk with :D
It helped me learn how to code HUDs, which is not useful for anything else outside of that, so it's almost a huge waste of time if not for huds.tf lmao
