Who here follows drum corps, is currently marching, or is an alumnus?
I marched with Coastal Surge in DCI last year, then with Bushwackers in DCA after Surge died. No money to march this year though.

Our head drum major my first 3 years of high school marching band ended up getting into crossmen as a drum major. Going to go see them rehearse in a few days when they're in town.
Also had another friend from another school go into drum corps as well. He was absolutely incredible for the area and joined a new(er) drum corps that I can't remember off the top of my head.
Oh, and our guard instructor throughout my entire high school years ended up being the head guard person for Louisiana stars.
I could keep going as well about people that I know that have marched, but I don't want to make this an essay
In high school I was friends with a handful of people in Cascades.
eeei played sax :(
dude learn a brass instrument, there are only 3 buttons
I've been following DCI since 2013, but I never participated since I was a clarinet player and didn't want to learn a brass instrument.
I currently only watch/follow really the large corps such as Carolina Crown, Bluecoats, etc.
I did have some marching staff back in high school who marched Boston Crusaders which was the cool stuff, being able to talk and hear their experiences of it.

I play the trumpet and always wanted to do DCI, but was held down by stupid health issues. Too busy with school and life stuff now :(
Will probably be at the Little Rock show next week. If not that, something. idk

Aw man. Is there a DCA corps around you?
Several of the people I marched with there were real adults with jobs and families, but the weekend-only aspect allowed them to march without issues. It's also a lot less straining on your health for the same reason.
