Viewmodels and Sensitvity for Scout

I am trying to decide what to do, sometimes I use viewmodels and sometimes I use mini and sometimes I don't use any. I usually use a 70 fov when using viewmodels though. Also I either play on 5 per 360 or 13 per 360 sens and am looking to find a more stable sens. Just list your sens and viewmodel fov or if you play with viewmodels at all. Thanks.

It all comes down to your preference and how comfortable you are with the setup. Most scout players prefer something closer to that 13.
That being said I use: 34 in/360 and no viewmodels except melee.

viewmodels dont matter at all its purely just what youre used to. sensitivity is also preference, but for scout in general, i'd say that lower is better than higher.

Keep your sensitivity the same and just practice with it.

Never adjust just because it's what other people do or recommend, do what works for you, however I would say it's much easier to aim with a lower sens in general but it isn't always the case.

I play with 25cm/360 and have viewmodels off except for melee

What Stoge said, I've learned this the hard way.

Clockwork said that he was motivated by this phrase: "If X can do this, then I can do this as well".

I've been using this as an excuse to change my sensitivity for quite some time and the conclusion was that it applies to pretty much everything except for your sensitivity. For me, sensitivities like B4nny's (13cm), Stark's (52cm) or even Nukkye's (~70cm) just do not work no matter how hard I try.
When I realized that I just took 1 out of ~40 sensitivities that I've already tested and started making minor adjustments to it.

After a few days of tests I figured out the sens that works best for me which is 27.1cm/360.

Same thing with viewmodels. Most people do not use them because they find them too big and distracting. I've been playing with vm's off on slots 1 and 2 on every class for like 2 or 3 seasons. However, after the MYM update I decided to give min vm's a try and I found out that for me it's easier to time my shots by looking at the animation rather than just "feel" the right timing.

Conclusion:
People usually say "Just find the settings that you're comfortable with and keep 'em" but I have something better.
Do no be afraid to spend some time searching for the settings that you're comfortable with. Once you do, don't bitch out when things start to go south and just keep 'em

Like others have said, there is honestly no real answer besides "play with what you're comfortable with"

With that being said, I definitely think that in regards to sensitivity, you should NOT rule out fucking with your m_yaw or m_pitch. Utilize every possible resource you can to find what works for you.

I don't use viewmodels for anything in tf2 apart from melee. I much prefer to not have a big weapon in my face. 100 weapon fov for the melee weapons though.
I also use 32cm/360 (about 13 inches) as my sensitivity for everything. It's obviously not impossible to use different sensitivities for different classes, but I don't get why you'd do it if you don't already.
The most important thing is to just not change your sensitivity. There are great scouts who use 70cm/360, and there are great scouts who use 8cm/360. It's personal preference.
I use 13 inches because it is a solid medium between accuracy and speed, but it's all up to you.
edit: ^forget that, you can be accurate with anything. I use 13 inches because I use it because there is no point of switching after so long. I'd lose muscle memory.

m_yaw and m_pitch should only be changed if you don't want them to be the same, so only of you want a different x- and y-sensitivity. I don't really think that is in any way beneficial, so I would not recommend it.
If you don't want them to be different then there is really no point in changing yaw and pitch because they are just a multiplier for your sensitivity, so any change can be done by changing that.

But aren't they locked anyway?

I'm not saying it's something that he absolutely NEEDS to do, but I don't think it's something he should necessarily rule out like a lot of people do. I've actually found that messing with my m_yaw has been beneficial to me personally, but again, personal choice.

Also, no, they're not locked.

I play a lot of soldier too and I think that 11 is prime, but that was also after I got a nice big mousepad with relatively little friction compared to my old dirty pad.

For me it is a middle ground between being able to flick and track accurately

No viewmodels except for melee
