bug after joining server

When i launch my tf2 not by pressing start but launching by joining a server I get this weird bug where im stuck on the welcome to the server menu, im unable to click on anything and I cant even alt tab or exit using control alt delete and im forced to restart my computer to fix it. anybody have the same problem/know the fix?

sometimes this happens to me, i fix it by clicking in my task bar right to left till i click the TF2 icon idk why it happens but its a bug iv'e had

Same thing here. Task manager refuses to come up, can't do anything else. It's really weird. I run in fullcreen too, so I can't click my taskbar. Sometimes if I button mash long enough it seems to fix itself but I've never noticed a specific key that fixes it.

Biggest thing I've noticed is that is only happens if I've clicked on any other programs in between clicking the "join" button and the game launching. Like, if I click join and then go mess with mumble for a second, the game will be unresponsive on launch.

I this this is related of how source games are designed. When you start loading map, the game become unresponsive until the map is fully loaded. Alt-tabbing doesn't work in and out of the game because the game just hangs and eating all you CPU and Disk IO, so you can't do anything.

You can try running the game in windowed mode and see if that helps. Although the Windows will show you that the game is not responding to wait 2-3 mins and it will connect to the server.
