Help with autoexec

Recently my autoexec.cfg stopped working. It won't start when I launch TF2. The file IS saved as a CFG file and it's in Team Fortress 2>tf>cfg. All my class configs are there to and the work fine. Can someone help me with this. Thanks.

Try to put your autoexec in custom > cfg > autoexec.cfg. If it won't work, you can also try to create a bind for autoexec, for example: bind p "exec autoexec"

Try custom > config > cfg

try putting "+exec autoexec.cfg" in your launch options. if it doesn't work then either your autoexec is in the wrong directory or its using a filetype that isn't .cfg

what makes you think your autoexec isnt working? it's possible some settings might be getting overridden. put an echo command in there to make sure

Koncept it does work when i exec it through the console

When TF2 starts, it looks for either

tf/cfg/autoexec.cfg

or

tf/custom/my-config-folder-name/cfg/autoexec.cfg

You don't really need a workaround like "+exec autoexec.cfg." Often times, people name their config autoexec.cfg.cfg, because they haven't enabled viewing of file extensions. Try that out.
