This already exists on the left side of tf.tv. Maybe I'm missing something?

I've only seen TF.TV and ESEA MOTW on the left side, but I know eXtv, blank, and MR SLIN also cast. Down the line I'd like the site to include different leagues, Highlander games, and even games other than TF2. But the goal is not to overwhelm the user, so on the site you follow/star the matches/teams/casters you care about, and only matches for those things fill your guide.

My competitive "experience" includes all of a few dozen lobbies long ago, and a SPUF 6v9 vs Xensity even longer ago. I don't have the time these days to take a stab at playing competitively, but I enjoy watching competitive 6s. And I'm convinced that there are a lot of casual players out there who, like me, love watching competitive TF2 but may not be on this site frequently. The site is, hopefully, just to be an easier way to find streamed TF2 matches online and grow the community.

I totally understand any skepticism though. I'm just eager to know when a few matches happen so I can throw it over the fence and get any sort of feedback.

Your best bet Shadow is going to be to go to the ESEA website and look at the upcoming matches. From that you might be able to gather information as to who's casting.

I think it's better when it's all on one site. The problem (that I see) is that only a few people can make official events, and a lot of casts are somewhat spur of the moment since streaming is so much more popular nowadays. I honestly would rather just see the events list on this site get bigger (more easily accessible to those hosting events/casts) than have a whole entire addition website just to keep track of casts.

With the spontaneous nature that is competitive TF2, often times we don't know when casted games are on until maybe 24 hours before the game starts. Players and casters have to schedule events around their real lives so last-minute casts and changes are understandable. The best you can do right now is just hunt down for casts yourself: search the forums several times a day to see who's casting, check ESEA match pages for every division to see if someone commented that there will be a cast, search other sites like VanillaTF2/OZFortress/AsiaFortress, search the forums for those sites, follow every single streamer and talk to them, talk to them more for casting updates, change information if casted games get moved or cancelled...see what I mean? It can take a lot of time and endless checking to fully keep up unless people tell you directly what's on for each week. There's nothing to stop you from trying this out but just be aware of all the places you'll have to search through. Having an organized TV guide-style system sounds great but we may not be organized enough for it yet.

I haven't been doing any live casting lately, mainly because Invite doesn't work so well with my current schedule. I'm looking at doing more post-produced matches that are not being covered live. AG vs Chess Club on Gully for eXample.

Thanks for the insight everyone, it's very helpful. I guess one idea that I had in mind was that a caster could log into the site (you can sign in with Twitch) and specify which matches they're casting (which could be as simple as putting the URL to the match page on ESEA), and then the match is automatically added to the guide of anyone who starred the match, either team, or the caster. Totally aware that this puts the burden on the caster, but ideally it would take all of ten seconds, and hopefully people would tune in who wouldn't normally search VanillaTF2/OZFortress/AsiaFortress/etc.
