on koth it pretty much has no downside. Played with and against it in the cup just now and the infinite ammo + right click made it a spam shitfest. Its op now?
Assuming you don't have to deal with sentries and don't get kritzed a lot, it has literally no downsides (except for those occasions).
it was fine before, now its just always an upgrade

A longer first reload was always a pain to use as you're already used to stock. Like when you think you should have just one rocket loaded by now to get a kill, but it doesn't happen in time.

even then, couldn't you just push with the other soldier/demo?
it had a good enough flaw in the reload speed being longer, but then they made it 1:1 with the default so it seems like it'd be a pretty easy choice on any map where you don't have to care about engi defense. I've never seen a match that uses it though so this could all mean nothing, I'd rather wait and see how people effectively use it

So its basically default rocket launcher but with infinite ammo and alt fire

I would argue that even in 6s with a engy it is a direct upgrade because the alt fire disable the buildings from doing anything for 4 seconds, so you can just alt fire the sentry and not even have to worry about it shooting you.

Alt fire isn't really a big deal, you don't really want to sacrifice 4 rockets for a charged one. The fact that it's now like a stock RL but with unlimited ammo is the problem.

To be fair, it does no harm to give a little something to soldiers given their current struggle against the almighty scouts. I say it's not a big deal.
Ammo management is a huge part of the game, take that away and you might as well go and play OW.
It was quite annoying to play against in in the very recent etf2l cup
It really seems like a straight upgrade now to the soldiers and teams who's sollies will use it in therms of ammo management

yeah, it's not as if koth_product is exactly a haven for soldiers, and it's near-impossible to easily stall out a KOTH map like you can 5CP (unless you somehow end up in a scenario where neither team can cap the point to begin with, I guess?)
but then, I'm also thinking about granary defense with infinite ammo, and boy howdy does that sound like the least exciting match of all time

I don't remember if there is damage falloff for minicrit rockets, but if there isn't it, the charged shot can one shot a scout walking out of a door which is pretty stupid imo.
tf2 wikiLike normal critical hits, they ignore damage falloff, but unlike critical hits, they are still given ramp-up at close range and random spread

the animation is so off sync now, i hope they speed it up >.<
panda106Doesn't this thing have after burn damage too?
alt fire does

It's annoying but are we really at a stage where we can afford to ban weapons just for being slightly annoying to play against? We've been moving towards a more open whitelist for years and it's not like this weapon breaks the game in any way, it just has a tiny amount more potential in terms of charged shots and 0 ammo required in exchange for removing the ability to spam down sentries from afar.
Personally I actually hate the weapon and would love to see it reworked/banned but I just don't think you can justify it when it's so close to stock in so many ways.
