So I recently reset my config, and it made me realize how poor the new player experience is. Playing the game with a custom hud, a good fps config, and other goodies is just so much better than what the average tf2 player starts out with. You start out without quickswitch, which is pretty much vital in a game as fast paced as tf2. You also do not start out with hitsounds, which is kind of ridiculous. Almost all fps games have some type of hitsound. There are other things like optimization and other things but there have already been countless threads on that. I don't know, maybe it would be a good move for Valve to at least freshen up the new player experience a bit.
not even just that all the dumb settings that are set to shit, but imagine coming into this game let alone coming into competitive
the tutorials and instructions are fucking garbage
If someone gets close to you make sure to use your shovel to not waste ammo!!!!

agreed, the basic class tutorial thing barely teaches anything but how to mouse1 and switch weapons, for just four classes.
and it's broken.

can we all email valve to fix these stupid default values and settings
Someone make a message and post it here so we can all say the same thing. Also how do I email valve?
Don't forget the tunnel vision default fov
Also imho, the default tutorial should be made MUCH better and should be updated and forced on new players. It should also include small jump maps for solly and demo because jumping is a HUGE part of the gameplay on those classes
EDIT:

This is a major issue and so easy to change, but I wouldn't spam Valve about it. It's much better if one person sends a well written e-mail, preferably someone the TF2 team know and have replied to before.
