From what I see lots of people in russian tf2 community treats the game as some sort of escape from 'le toxic tf2 community' claiming that everything is better in overwatch - ive been seeing statements like these for a while from different gamers of different skill levels; while the prizes indeed are strong in ow I still cant wrap my head around the fact this game's competitive scene is any exciting or interesting or skillful for that matter
Imo the only hope for it is tf2 production crew coming around and doing their thing and providing strong analysis along with decent commentary

flufCan someone make it so I never seen any threads with "overwatch" in the title
I was bored, so I did it.
Download here: https://github.com/corbinmuraro/tftv-overposted/blob/master/tftv-overposted.crx
Then go to your chrome extensions page: ( chrome://extensions/ ) and drag and drop the file.

OW was always going to decapitate the top of the TF2 competitive scene. It's not nice to lose most of your best players to the better funded higher profile competitor that people won't stop talking about but hey, Canadian Football is still a thing right?

dizastaSo sad that valve doesn't give a fuck about tf2, I thought overwatch's success would ring some bells.
If valve doesn't REALLY step up their game competitive tf2 is just going to continue it's downhill.
how does valve suffer from it? it's not like competitive tf2 ever gave them any revenue.
no viewers, no cash.
they rely on traders and need to apeal to them because they are the main income source from tf2.

I really hope Overwatch and Quake Champions succeed in the competitive front so Valve see that and step up.
I dream that, one day, this will make Valve re-release TF2 with Source 2, a complete focus on 6v6 (something like they did with CS when they released the matchmaking update to CSGO after the game failed for its first year), with less weapons, more optimized updates, better customization options in-game, acknowledging and making the existence of main and offclasses a part of the game and really support game tournaments. Maybe calling it Team Fortress Pro or something like that.
A re-release would create the hype the competitive scene needs, people would get curious about it, start watching streams during the beta, most would get interest and keep watching.
But, well, this might be a distant dream. For now, I am happy that some of my TF2 friends are getting success in OW here in Brazil. 3 of the top 10 teams in here are mostly made of TF2 players.
