sometimes when i die my screen will get a weird pink filter, like someone colored it with a highlighter. whenever this happens, mat_viewportscale also functions differently, idk why.

i've had this problem while using HDR. So you might try setting mat_hdr_level to 0.

i had an issue similar to this this but i think it was due to a missing texture with jarate/blood overlays (the checkerboard was visible). i think a reinstall fixed it
