If my team is going, then I am going 100%. I might go just for the hell of it as well, especially considering how cheap flights are for me.

West Coast LAN hype! I might go if I can get the money and a little time off work. It could be cheaper than $100 to fly from Portland if I buy at the right time. :0

I'll wait for prize pool and invite team attendance info release, but I might fly down just to watch if the prize pool is beefy enough

in my college experience the first few days of class of the term were quite acceptable to miss, especially if you email the professor and let them know you won't be there ahead of time. most of the time it's just going over the syllabus, which you can almost certainly get online in all of your classes now.

LF>guide on how to plan for this sort of thing
Tickets are cheap af but there's the dates and rooms and the process of actually going. Any FGC/Smash players in the house who have done this a lot?
is it one of those situations where we all end up on the same floor of the same hotel?

Definitely looking at putting together a squad to represent the Portland Burnsiders at the event, let's chat Differ.

Just bumping this thread-
We can confirm there will be a 6v6 Team Fortress 2 LAN at Esports Arena January 21-22. While the official announcement will be on its way in a few weeks with more details, we wanted to offer some basic information to clear up some questions you may have about the event. There will be an official thread with the final details when that announcement comes. If you're unfamiliar with the venue, their website is here: http://esportsarena.com/. They're located in trendy Downtown Santa Ana, California: http://www.downtown-santaana.com/.
Our event will be shared with some small Halo 1 and Shadowrun tournaments, and players are welcome to participate and mingle.
We are planning two tournaments for TF2: an invite level tournament, and an open tournament. There will be a low entry fee per person for each team. Spectators who do not wish to play are free, and will have seating available. We're working on bringing you some top-tier casters and analysts as well as international teams of repute, HOWEVER, the prize pool and invited teams have not been made official yet. (Format has likewise not been formalized.)
The venue provides all PCs onsite, so no BYOC, all you need to bring is peripherals. Peripheral rentals are also available and are generally free to tournament players.
More information about available accomodations will be forthcoming, but if you're looking to attend, you'll want to fly in either LAX or SNA. SNA is ~10 minutes from the venue and will likely be where our hotel is located, however for some LAX may be cheaper. LGB is another airport option about 30 minutes from the venue. We encourage you to look at all airport options when planning your trip, as well as shuttle services which offer the reasonable pricing for transport from LAX (http://shuttletolax.com/, for example).
We are looking at possible sponsors for the event, please contact b4nny or samiface if you have any possible leads.

Any euros want to get a big minibus?
How much do hotels generally go for?
4 nights at i58 was about £250/$325, is that considered cheap in NA?

Looks like there are motels/hotels in the area from around 70 - 150 a night so there is stuff in that price range, but the cheapest hotel I see on google is 87, and $101 for the next one up.

Are you sure about having both an invite and an open tournament? I would believe there isn't quite enough time...

At i58 the "open tournament" and the "invite tournament" were still part of the same tournament, just different groups
By 2 tournaments I assumed they meant 2 brackets and 2 winners like at GXL 2014
