It's only awkward if you make it awkward. I've spoken to many people in day to day life who were really interested in what I do for tftv.

In high school back in 2005 I had a lot of shirts that said things like 'I'm not as drunk as you think I am' and 'even if the voices aren't real they have some pretty good ideas'. I also wore elbow-high fingerless gloves, suspenders hanging off my belt, the most beat up converses, and tons of plastic bracelets.

Edit, I also remember someone from the school yearbook was tasked at randomly interviewing people for a style section, for some reason they thought I'd be a good choice. I told them I loved Hot Topic.
