Yes.

Unfortunately, some people are immune to the idea that a inbox/private messaging systems exists on this website, so I personally think it's better to just leave everything (including whether or not I can make a certain name change) confined to the request thread in particular. I only keep it to PM if the people make the request via PM in the first place, which some people do.

EDIT: It would be interesting to make it so name changes can only be done through PM (preferably by PMing me specifically so people don't unnecessarily bother enigma, mana or someone else). I might make a pinned thread enforcing that sometime later this weekend.
