Funs, bumfreeze, bink, pred, warped, samski.
vaniSOLAR were people that went from lingering in div 5-4-3 to prem in a season or two (hycz qnx maidu cor lalli silleh). Honorable mention to gozo and hawku, the former who would have played prem with us if he didnt have to quit for uni and the latter who played div 1 on a macbook pro at sub 60 fps while complaining about dm.
Good times :)

If the scene's still around, he'll be in prem pretty soon

i think its important to note that the vast majority of people who really fit this description are scouts
the reason for this should be obvious hopefully

hpqoeuVulcanI don't see any natural talent in this thread, all of these people grind dm or pugs on the daily, as much as invites do. So getting to invite in 5 seasons would be normal for their amount of pugs. Somebody who actually had talent (seagull, nukkye) would be people who improved incredibly fast with a low amount of hours for their level.
nukkye didn't have talent, he spent thousands of hours in dm and mge and went from div4 to prem
nukkye has WAY less hours spent playing the game than most others.

I forgot about upio, he was a cs player who became friends with the 20b circlejerk and played pug scout with like 200hrs on the game. Pretty sure he was on that part time fraggers team in IM but quit afterwards. Wasn't that good but considering how few hours he had in the game he was pretty good.
Codyody was a top demo jumper and played pugs occasionally then he won open (carried by dingo) and has improved quite a bit in invite this season IMO at least. Similar story to digi who got carried by mausy and won open (having only played hl and some mid open team with cookiejake that died iirc), but he hasn't really improved that much in the few seasons he's played in invite since then.
Most of the time these sorts of players either have experience with another fps/game mode or just grind pugs/dm/mge. Not really the case that some people are just born to be good at tf2 it takes practice. The better your practice and the better the people you play with are the faster you will improve.

I was literally gonna talk about Upio too, considering his hours in tf2 he was really good, mostly due to his CS days
Also sigh. Remember scrimming his steel 6s team and him destroying me and then within a year playing on that top open team with Air and then he goes IM and invite soon after

It's not like chris spent like a year straight playing mge and getting god tier dm before he even started playing comp.
Honestly most people who seem to be "IMPROVING SUPER MEGA FAST" have been sitting on dm/mge for a long time, people just dont notice them until they actually start playing 6s

Okay... but does that change the fact he quickly improved at 6s?
