So i was studying and decided to take a break. After no more than 30mins i find my PC on sleep mode ( so far so good ). But when I try to login , the pc is stuck on the login page completely black with just the time on the bottom left. After 1min or so it displays a error screen saying iirc it found an error and its now gathering information. Then it restarted and went directly to BIOS and even after exiting BIOS it just goes back at it.
Any help? Thx in advance

Which disk are you booting into? Check the motherboard even detects a bootable disk (hard drive or ssd etc).

Heres a quick list of things you can try:
- Try a different SATA port
- Try a different SATA cable
- Try a different SATA power cable
Otherwise, I think your HDD might have died. Did it make any strange noises recently?

An HDD won't do the Wilhelm scream when it dies.

Sometimes they'll beep if there's some kind of fault, but yeah if it's not being detected it's either the mobo/port/cable/hdd itself. Gotta fiddle with things and figure out which party is at fault - hopefully it's just the cable :(

Well, on the bright side your data may be recoverable if you get a replacement drive - just watch for the old drive to randomly boot and raid it for the data you want.

Well maybe tell us what the "error" is or does it have to be a secret?

I would if I knew what it was. It just said windows found an error and it will gather info. Nothing else
