Can a perfect one do 175 damage? This is for an assignment please help.
can't you just crouch on 2 stickies for the same effect?
Max_Crouch dets are different than c-taps
Obviously, but that's not the point. He's asking if a perfect ctap will do 175 damage, which should basically be the same thing or less as crouching right on top of stickies

My understanding is that ctaping puts some of your hull/box below the floor. In fact, I heard the whole 2 stickies thing from someone who was explaining how ctaping works, and the whole 'crouching won't kill you, ctapping will' was offered as evidence for their claims.

That seems interesting, according to the tf2 wiki, demoman has a self resist of 25% of his sticky damage, and the base damage is 120, so .75x120x2 should be 180, which means if your guy is correct it should kill you

i hear kaidus can do a rollout where he gets to mid so fast that he can lock out the entire enemy team! GG bad guys.
Ctaps don't work with demo
a crouch jump gives you the highest potential velocity
a crouch jump gives you the highest potential velocity
You can die to 2 stickies either uncrouched or crouch jumping and detting when you fall on them
I don't have a demo (not that anyone would check it) but I totally just died to a 2 sticky ctap just now. Thanks guys I can finally go to bed now.
Why are people assuming things when they dont know how it works? You dont have to comment your assumption if it doesnt support any facts with it.

iirc EXC0 talked about that three years ago when explaining ctaps during a TOTH jump segment

Nooone know exactly how it works. It has also been explained by gain extra momentum from the uncrouching. But nothing is certain.
You can also just kill yourself but jumping and detting just before you land on your stickies (crouched or uncrouched).
I'm not sure if you get extra hight from a sticky ctap, prolly doing it wrong.

If you just crouch on 2 stickies you will not die. But if you clap onto the two stickies you will die.
Step 1: Place down 2 stickies
Step 2: Line yourself up with the stickies
Step 3: Crouch
Step 4: Uncrouch
Step 5: Detonate
Step 6: Dead

Iirc ctapping worked based on being slightly closer to the sticky and possibly the feet moving slightly faster due to the uncrouch motion. Which makes it usable for any explosive jump, but also useless for anything other than rocketjumps because if you're willing to take more damage you can just use more stickies or det while being closer to it.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
pretty sure you can ctap in order to surf slightly further on any class as well (though its wildly inconsistent and probably not worth taking the extra damage for)
Base sticky damage equals to 120 (x2) 240, meaning that the Demoman with his 175 health in theory shouldn't be able to survive it. With demoman having a 25% damage resistance to his own stickies, the damage taken turns into 90.
This means that a double stickyjump pogo would kill you if you were anywhere under 180 health, so if you don't got a medic to back you up, it won't end pretty well.

youre ignoring falloff, its really easy to jump with 2 stickies and do less than 180
to ctap on demo though you need to be basically right on top of the stickies so most likely in that case they would do more than 175
