So i hopped on a sniper server and equipped the hitsmans heatmaker and noticed i was hitting way more shots than i normally hit, to check that this wasnt just placebo i would randomly change my weapons and noticed a big difference in the amount of headshots i hit.
Does anyone else hit more shots with the heatsmaker?
edit: after furthermore testing i have realized that i am also hitting more shots with the machina and the bazaar's bargain

it discourages bodyshotting so thats not really surprising
its silenced so people dont notice you as much and you get more time to hit shots

i dont see the logic in that statement, im only going for headshots not bodyshots

im on a sniper server, and im hitting more of my first shots, normally i usually have to go for 2 or more but when im using this weapon ill headshot them instantly

it's placebo (kinda), i always think that a visual change, whether it's crosshair/hud/weapon (e.g. swapping to original or cowmangler) makes me hit more shots for some reason.
I noticed that too, but it's probably placebo. I don't hit any more shots with bazaar or machina. Or like gemm said, maybe the difference in how the weapon looks gives you some form of placebo. What kind of stat would make it hit more anyways? More accuracy on a pretty much 100% accurate gun won't do anything
compare headshot thresholds before making this thread.

I dont use viewmodels on sniper

what do you mean by this?

i dont know why but any time I use the machina i can't hit anything, i think its cuz of the tracer effect
At this point im really doubting that it's a placebo affect, could it be possible that the bullets are maybe bigger? resulting in more leeway in hitting shots?

thanks for clearing that up
KratataPlacebo definitely.
i used the stock rifle for 30 mins and got a certain amount of kills and then after switching to the heatmaker i got almost double that.

id like to hear some theories as to what hidden stats you think could be on the sniper. bigger bullets was quite the laugh.

yes it was, i was thinking of the huntsman projectiles and how since they're bigger you have more room to hit headshots

turn off viewmodels, turn off sound, physically block off any hud elements that suggests which rifle you're using on your screen, record your game as you play, rewatch the vod and if that's still the case then i can take you seriously

nobody needs to do any of this, and he's going to know what weapon he's using regardless of hud elements.

I've done this I always play without viewmodels, and I would randomly switch my loadout, and I think it might be the sound of the sniper rifle helping me aim. When I don't have sound on my aim for both weapons is the exact same but when sound is on I aim significantly better with the heatsmakee.

Replace all of ur rifle sounds with the heatmaker sounds

ILLEGALELEPHANTGUNplacebo effect is real
FireIts Placebo, all rifles have a point as bullet (so 0 width and height) and are 100% accurate (at least in theory).
That doesnt mean that it doesnt have an effect to you tho like you seem to think, its a very real thing.
After a while aiming become a thing that you just so without focusing on it, so a change in visuals, audio, or the mindest that you can hit way more with xyz gun can influence you alot.
faggetpsychology has a big effect on aiming.
Citrica placebo effect is still a real effect, the end
