NFCG are in decent shape in terms of making the playoffs despite the FFW. They are 9-5, and have 47 RF with a FFW coming. Even if they lose to trans-autistic railroad, they're on a 10-6 record with between 49-53 RF. That should do the trick - even if the seed is somewhat poor. I think they'll be dancing anyway come next week - so let's not worry about what did or didn't happen in that other match.
Toon Gang, on the other hand, will be in good shape thanks to the FFW. At 44 RF, they weren't THAT safe before the FFW considering that Playground Tactics should beat them. As long as they beat pre-game callers they're fine - but if two losses come from granary week you could see them sitting at 10-6 with only 46-50 RF. Not an ideal place to be. Toon Gang are safe provided they show up and don't absolutely hammered by Playground Tactics AND pre-game callers. I think they'll split the two to go 11-5.
Both teams are probably going to take care of business and make the postseason. So let's move on - there are other compelling matchups in which one or both teams involved are NOT safe.

the mid-open bubble bloodbath starts tonight! i think there's only three matches tonight that DON'T have an effect on playoff seeding.
i bow to radium's superior formatting and great write-up from yesterday morning, but here is my two cents anyway:

MATCH OF THE WEEK
Randy and Chums (9-5) vs. open is hard/RUSH (9-5)
Match rating: 9/10. Consider this: After starting 9-0 and having the #1 overall ranking, a loss here for what used to be RUSH will push them in what could wind up being a premature elimination game against Basics Octopus Emporium. Things are even more desperate for Randy and Chums, since they're going to face the 11-3 Playground Tactics in the final game of the season. Neither team is in any kind of form to speak of - which means this could turn into a desperate, scrappy affair. This is actually a great game to cast in my opinion as you're going to see playoff-level TF2 one week early. Both sides have buckets of experience relative to 80% of Open - so therefore I cannot give a "crunch time" edge either way. I'm going to say that Randy and Chums are a marginal favorite pre-match since I'm not exactly sure what lineup the former RUSH squad will decide to use. Randy and Chums, on the other hand, have found a standing six and SHOULD look more cohesive as result. This is hugely important on cp_granary in which team discipline is often more important than individual playmaking.
If RUSH were 100% focused into this game (and only they themselves can answer this), then I would take them in a second since I think they've got a small talent advantage. Unfortunately I'm not sold enough on either their focus (which is hard to gauge) or who they're starting (which isn't stable as it used to be - that IS verifiable) to overlook a disciplined kraka AND an invite-proven player at the controls (blackymonster on medic).
Players to watch: kraka, reimu
clearly the match of the week here, for sure! radium covered all the meat and potatoes of the match, and i would only really like to add that the loser of this match is going to be in a precarious position to be knocked out of playoffs for good. i will also say another player to watch is drcameltoe, the demo for RUSH. while making some questionable bombs during out match last week, he definitely made some big plays that turned a few rounds over, and shouldn't be ignored. the kid has some great pipes.
another close match IMO mentioned briefly by radium is going to be trans-autistic railroad vs new faith church gaming tonight at 7:30p PST. i haven't really been able to scrim new faith church for a few weeks so I have no idea how they are looking lately, but I know after the whole FFL debacle they will definitely be looking to take wins away from their last two matches this week. breloom & his band of merry men looked good last night after scrimming them through two long granary marathons. conductor is going to have good presence on mid, hopefully keeping scouts out of the fight long enough for his soldiers to do some work. abramelin (how the hell do you say this guy's name?!) and kohaku are both solid scouts, but i fear they will be looking to wrack up those cap points, as granary is historically horrible for scouts. excited to see these two teams match up, it should be close.

c4shEVIL will make playoffs thanks to scheduling.
Foobar (8-6) and DO DA DISHES (7-7) aren't that bad - so be careful. Both will put up a fight. I expect DO DA DISHES to take a few rounds and push you, while Foobar skims a couple off after going down big early.

eCg's pocket decided to stream scrims instead of show up for our match today so hey, we got another win!
Apparently they had no intention of showing up anyways, oh well.

london_callinghas the bubble burst yet?
The top 9 are secured no matter what. The rest will depend on who goes 11-5 and who doesn't, and the remaining couple of 10-6 teams in the final seeds with the most rounds won. Blackymonster's team is safe, because no other potential 10-5 teams can overtake them in rounds if they lose.

Bubble Watch Update:
1. Currently 22 teams are mathematically alive for the postseason. The cut-line is at Just The Tip, who are 9-6 with the potential to get 48 RF at the end of the season. 47 RF will likely be the absolute minimum number of rounds needed to make the playoffs. It is currently too murky of a picture at the moment to call what the clear dividing line will be.
2. Wu-Tang Financial vs. Just the Tip is an elimination game. The loser is officially eliminated. The winner, however, will need some degree of help to advance to the postseason at 10-6. A 5-round Wu-Tang win puts them at 10-6 and 50 RF - which is DIRECTLY on the razor's edge.
3. For the second straight season there is a REALLY good chance of a tiebreaker game being used for the 16th and final spot.
4. TIME IS NOW could likely eliminate a few teams (and make it themselves) with a win to end the season. Unfortunately, they're playing The Crunchy Bunch - which is the #2 seed in Open. If they can win that game, then there can be no complaints about them making it this season.
5. Last night, seven teams were eliminated. A few of which did win themselves - but they simply didn't get the OTHER results they needed and have no way of securing the ~50 rounds needed for the postseason. The bubble is tighter, now - but it is WAY more complicated as there are at LEAST a dozen realistic permutations that could exist.

This is like the NCAA Tournament, but with video games.
I'm rooting for Wu-Tang Financial. Gogo Zigzter :3.
Not really sure why Aurora gave us a FFW last night. I figured they were still in playoff contention.
