no words lol
Living in Northern Virginia very close to the FBI headquarters in Langley (where James Comey works), Comey's daughter goes to my high school. I wonder what her day is going to be like tomorrow...

catfacethe timing is shit sure but comey being fired was coming no matter what, and if you think he didn't deserve to be fired ur just retarded lol
The thing is the timing could've easily not been shit. They could've fired him any time they wanted, the reason they gave was valid since day 1 of Trump's presidency. If they wanted to go on the reason they gave, there was nothing stopping this from happening earlier--where the reason was more valid since months hadn't passed, less people would blame him for removing Obama appointees early, and where there wasn't developments in a controversy involving them less than 24 hours before. And if they wanted a better reason they could've waited even a few days and there wouldn't be anywhere near the backlash.
Hell, the process was so quick that Comey only found out when he heard it on the news, and there was no replacement lined up for him either (unlike people like Yates, who should've been a much hastier firing but still had a replacement appointed that same day).
If they weren't suddenly worried about keeping him and wanted him out asap, why now and why like this? I'm not surprised that Trump fired Comey, it was going to happen sooner or later, but I just can't wrap my head around the timing being this fucking bad with all those suspicious details surrounding it and there to not be something fucky here.

"if u dont have my opinion ur just dumb lol"

There was no actual reason for Comey to be fired, especially considering that the given reason for his termination ( aka he was too hard on Clinton 2 years ago) doesn't even make any sense since Trump literally praised him for being tough on her less than a few weeks ago.
If you don't think that there's something fishy going on here, well....
edit: cant read tweets whoop

The reason he gets fired now rather than months ago is because Attorney General Sessions has recused himself from any Trump investigation, since he is part of the administration. So, the DOJ has a new guy, who was just confirmed by the Senate 94-6 two weeks ago (i.e. with overwhelming support from both parties), and THAT guy started investigating. The above memo is the result of this.

this is very naive
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/10/opinion/rod-rosenstein-comey-firing.html
this is why special prosecutors are appointed to handle such serious investigations
rosenstein being confirmed with bipartisan approval (just like sally yates before him, mind you) and not being literally the same human being as jeff sessions does not mean his perspective is unbiased, he is literally sessions' subordinate and works for the specific department with the greatest grievance against comey
comey sucked for many reasons but there is literally zero explanation of the timing of his firing that makes sense other than him antagonizing trump with his russia investigation (whether he actually found anything or not)
I personally don't give a fuck about most of the russia collusion stuff, I think it's overblown and there are far more important issues, but I do give a fuck about trump being capricious and doing weird, authoritarian things
yates, preet bharara, and comey were all specifically targeted because they were investigating the president, this smacks very heavily of the saturday night massacre
