This past fall, I stopped playing TF2 competitively because I was taken off the starting position of my team (made a thread about that). I did pubs and MGE looking for a new team, but just lost incentive and took several months off. I am sort of ready to get back into the swing of things. Anyone taken a while off and got back into it? Where should I start? Aim practice? Lobbys? Pugs? Also thinking about joining a new team. Sorry if this is sort of pointless, just looking for some advice from people who have been in a similar position.

PUG for awhile. You've probably lost a bit of your routine over the time of your absence. Don't trick yourself into thinking you're doing it right by rolling lobbies, join better pugs and put `ringme in your name or something. Participate in higher level pugs, and don't MGE constantly. Ease back into your style if you had something that worked.

Alright, thanks for the advice. Definitely got to get the rust off of my aim. Any other tips would be appreciated.

I've found that DMing a bit after a long break will ease you back into it, then start playing PUGs once you're comfortable playing again.
