let me know if you need a guinea pig. half of my diet is already made up of oats and rice, i sleep on the floor, and have been in a cycle of my sleep growing later by an hour each day for two years.

i've got lots of great ideas that would benefit your team too, like finger riddles and 'brain games'

also, make sure the team is constantly high, this means refilling your glass every hour tops

Good luck trying to get 6 gamers to abide by your rules outside of video games, I put considerable effort into changing in-game habits and that was a nightmare in itself - I'd go crazy af in the 'tf2 team management business'.

It does actually make a difference though, if you can find the 'pizza aim theory' thread there's some interesting discussion on the topic there, and I linked a video where fatality talks about some of this stuff in detail.

IMO the biggest thing would be eating healthy. Esports are draining, yes, but not in the way that would require, say, loading up on carbs the night before. Having enough energy, being alert, etc. are all totally achievable by just having a healthy lifestyle (e.g. exercise and vegetables)

http://www.healthline.com/nutrition/ketogenic-diet-101

The Ketogenic Diet great for burning fat and boosting energy levels. Also relies heavily on meat, dairy, and nuts

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-intermittent-fasting-might-help-you-live-longer-healthier-life/

Intermittent Fasting, great for losing weight has all kinds of benefits (some proven others seem quite anecdotal). Can be a pain to start and their's all kinds of different "Intermittent Fasting" some I find pointless
16:8, 16hrs of no eating 8hrs were you can eat. This one is kinda dumb imo cause you can still very easily fit 3 meals in a 8hr period ex. 9AM, 12PM, 4PM
23:1, Basically you eat 1 meal at the same time everyday
Alternating days were you do or do not eat.
Periodic Fasting, basically you don't eat or eat extremely little for a few days or perhaps a week once or twice a year (most still drink water)
Religious Fasting, many examples 2 common known ones in the west are Yom Kippur (Jewish) and Ramadan (Muslim)

About the only thing I know that's 100% necessary to avoid in basically any diet for improved performance removes virtually all Fructose from a persons diet. I.e. no more sugary drink including juice, you can occasionally have whole fruits but no other sweet snacks, dairy (lactose) is fine so if you see an 8oz glass of milk has about 11g of sugar it's almost entirely lactose you're fine

I mean if you're just looking to lose weight - upping your physical activity *at all* even just walking around for a few minutes (generally an hour) and changing nothing else over the long term will result in some weight loss and increased engery levels if you're not super low body fat/higher energy already. The biggest thing if you're fairly sedentary (I know lots of gamers are) is just to do a little bit at a time and push yourself to do a little more each day - especially if you've got a competitive spirit, you'll see some results there.

The biggest mistake most people make when adopting a diet/exercise regimen is trying to do too much all at once and they end up feeling totally miserable/overwhelmed and quit after only a few days. Yeah it feels stupid to do *just* 10 push ups, but if that's all you can manage without killing yourself then just be happy with that and try to do 11 tomorrow for example.

From there the next easiest step is just to look at things that add unnecessary calories - sour cream, high calorie drinks with meals, putting sugar and butter on things, your 2 AM fast-food run, etc and cut them out at least some or all of the time. Particularly if you're male, it's quite a bit easier, typically, to drop weight if one is looking to lose weight, just by cutting back on those "sneaky" sorts of things, and then move on to adding more "healthy" low calorie foods..

CollaideWhat you meant to say:murkscribejust for overall health, good to avoid extra calories and saturated fats and cholesterol

Saturated fat isn't that bad for you, trans-fat is the only fat that you need to avoid wholesale. Are saturated fats as good for you as unsaturated ones? No, but it's still a way better source of energy for your body than the Carbs you get from Sugar and White Bread. Reference

Cholesterol isn't necessarily bad for you either HDL cholesterol for the most part is perfectly fine, while LDL needs to be at low levels otherwise it causes issues. Triglycerides for the most part are fine if your HDL is high and LDL is low.
HDL sources: Fish, Nuts, Green leafy vegetables, Purple Skinned Vegetables and Fruit, Red Wine,
LDL sources: Anything deep fried, Red Meat, Processed Food (Bread, Cereal, Sausage, etc),
Lean meats (fish, poultry, etc) contain both but usually have a lot more HDL than they have LDL.

Side note: Dairy and Eggs also contain significant levels of cholesterol but it's a mixed bag of LDL and HDL due to how the human body breaks down the food. Some studies suggest that at least in eggs that they have a slight net positive affect on your body for cholesterol. Reference

Tried getting into jogging, had too much fun one day and went way farther and harder than i should have. Fucked up my shins and knees something awful.

Definitely need to ease your way into this kinda stuff.

"If I eat a diet with lots eggs I have an increased chance of developing atherosclerosis"
"Therefore I will consume ZERO cholesterol and reap the health benefits of not being able to naturally produce adequate amounts of sex hormones."
Thanks for warning us all about how eating eggs is tantamount to rolling around in raw sewage while smoking.
