So now that mixchamp and freakpugs are dead where do I play pugs? I'm added to pugchamp but its crowded and we don't have enough medic mains. Any active inhouse groups? Please help.
Pugchamp is the best platform we got, just play medic. Splitting the pug pool is not a good idea especially for the current state.
I understand that splitting the pug pool isn't a good a idea, but we used to have pugs and mixes at the same time. I'm just looking for pugs where I can play my main and try to improve.
that's what wave 2/3 pug champ pugs are for. just need people willing to captain/medic and get those games rolling which is the same exact hurdle that in house pugs have to go through.

at the same time pugchamp can only support like 3 pugs at once before drafts become painfully slow (or it runs out of servers)

Discord Pugs probably, the ones that are semi-active and aren't 100% cancer are ImproPug, GarboPug, OmniPug, and R&R Pugs.

no one wants to experience this: https://youtu.be/DUbDlzan_IQ?t=1m43s
in a competitive videogame, you usually shouldn't have to play with pro players so you can play some matches (with people yelling at you just because you're not as good as them), i know tf2 is fucked but think about the comfort and fun of the players.

*when youre a open player and dont get picked ever unless you play med, which is not fun*

play med until you can captain then pick your own teams and play whatever you want

I can captain, but I'd rather not captain against people better than me. I can captain open pugs if we have two medics but that's hard.

all the problems you mentioned happens in house pugs too. they are general pug hurdles and not specific to pugchamp.
just do it, you're bound to pick some bad teams and people will hate you for it but that's part of the process
