people underestimate the single-tap/double-tap efficacy of pistol.
it feels really satisfying hitting two meatshots and then switching to your pistol & shooting once.
the single-tap pistol style has been really good ever since they sped up the weapon transition speed a while back.

Thinking of best pistol scouts is slightly dumb imo, because the weapon is so random you actually have to go for pistol streaks, in situations where it may screw you up or scatter would've simply just done the job better and more reliably. Also you have to give away your movement(start circling/long strafes) if you want to hit well with pistol.
Quad himself said his movement was his weakest point, I don't know how he got so well away with almost circling/just doing long strafes most of the time, but from what I saw he pretty much hunted for pistol streaks in any situation where loading or simply using the scattergun would be way better.
It obviously looks cool in fragclips without dmg numbers because it looks like you drill buffed players dead with a pistol clip, when in reality they're low and even though you have your aim locked on them, only like 40% of your shots land even at close range sometimes.
I wish the spread wasn't so awful though, it does take some balls to actually hunt pistol streaks because you can have your crosshair locked on your enemy and not hit shit, especially against other scouts. Also for me it throws my tracking off when I have the cross on the enemy at close/mid-range and the shots won't hit so I try to fix up the tracking despite it being on point.
