How to prevent STV from adding another slot?

I bought a 13-slot server for 6v6 with an extra slot for STV. When I try to enable STV using tv_enable 1 it says "extra slot was added for SourceTV". Since my server has only 13 slots, and the server owners do not allow for more than 13 slots it crashes the server. My question is, how do I make STV use the 13th slot, without having to create an additional 14th slot?

You can add the command sv_visiblemaxplayers "-1"
That will allow the STV to join the server without taking up a slot.

didn't work, the server still crashes from having more than 13 slots

If you can access your start params, use maxplayers 12 when starting the server.

I can only view them, not change them

But wouldn't this only change the server from being 13-slot to 12-slot? I would still experience the same problem - the STV trying to create another slot (this time 13th) instead of using an already existing one (12th or whatever)
