If you're looking for a place to watch the stream and also have a decent chat raysfire is hosting AGDQ channel when he's not live so you can watch there and chat with his viewers. Normally a decent amount of people there and rays pops in and out from time to time.

At last year's AGDQ which I was at, they did Vice City which was kinda cool. I kinda agree with you, most of the games don't really appeal to me, but I try to understand that they need to change up the games every event to make it interesting. For example, I love Tony Hawk speedrunning but that's not on this event's calendar. However, they've done almost all the games from that series in the past. Shrug. Two events a year, you gotta change it up.

I liked Jedi Academy because CovertMuffin is fucking hilarious (HE SAID FUCK BE READY FOR HIS BAN!!)
Bloodborne, WC3 (feat Muffin), Super Dram World 2 and HL:OF was fun as well, any I missed?

crowd cam took them like 3 days to set up and even then it wasn't the whole place..
plebs weren't freed!!! (however the trihex refuge was godly, god bless that men)
some of these runs were soooooo boring to watch (metroid prime, ultima for example)

Bloodborne by far, have never seen a runner explain so well what he is doing while playing. Even the donation reader was great

Definitely the A Link to the Past Randomizer was great as well
also low key the prize presenting guy during set up was one of the most hilarious parts this year

After Dark and Awful Block had some really enjoyable stuff. Serious Sam 3, El Matador, Toy Story, Superman 64, Arabian Nights, Enviro-bear (EAT THE FISH), and LTTP randomizer were really fun due to the couch and/or the runners. LTTP last year was great because of Patty and Andy's banter and it was good to see Patty back for this segment.

I also tuned in a bit for the OOT/BOTW runs and IWBTB/IWRTR because I like those games, peeked at the blindfolded bosses of DS3, I'll probably watch a few more later this week.

The double Punch Out! run was pretty sick

Carcinogen's Resident Evil 7 run was easily the best run of this GDQ imo

lol yeah gdq sucks now because they're trying to raise more money for charity.....they sold out to Big Cancer Prevention

they could have well gone with other charities, charities that spread awareness OUTSIDE of USA too
i'm not against what they're doing in the big picture but i don't support their recent decisions
if you want monotone runners go ahead but i myself enjoy runs where a person's personality is showing

ironically that runner in particular was trolling by speaking like that, probably because of how gdq promotes that sort of commentary instead of actual personality.
