been watching previous LANs and also ESA Rewind II at the weekend, happened to notice Kaidus had wooden plank with him. Can anyone give some background info on this?

amazing, honestly.
amazing, honestly.
Kaidus has pretty bad RSI which makes his ergonomic setup pretty important. The board helps him put all his peripherals in exactly the right spot so he can play without injuring himself further than he already has. He also has a few other things, like a chair with an armrest and a phone case he uses as a wrist rest as well.
Big props to him - this type of injury is an absolute nightmare for any hardcore competitive gamer. It really does suck but he soldiers on because he really does love the game and wants to see EU be competitive as they can be. Guy deserves a medal.

Oh wow, didn't really think of how much impact it can actually have. Like you said props to Kaidus, although through the all the pain he could potentially have he still pushes on. Cheers!

WORD
The fact that he has the RSI, still manages to pound in games, and do so much for the community overall. I also think he deserves a Community Stickybomb or Grenade Launcher.

Building the most dominant european team since 2013, still being a big part of the squad even when not playing, playing a big part in getting a european team to a californian LAN TWICE, has been playing in prem longer than anyone else - was part of some legendary teams all the way back into 2012. Recognised as the king of demoman rollouts. Big stream with some of the highest quality demo reviews in the game.

Kaidus has been what you told but I don't exactly see how anything you mentioned matters.. Playing time, going to lans, getting teams to lan, king of demo, I see none of that relevant in this.

sal is a proof that getting teams to lan doesnt give community weapons and if community weapons were given out for skill kaido wouldnt be the first in line :/

Tbf, I reckon half the demos in Open, Mid, High and maybe even Prem started maining demo because of Kaidus.
That's a fair legacy.

StylaxTbf, I reckon
Yeah that's the thing, it's not like there's a survey existing "did you start maining demo because of kaidus?". Who else would then need to get a community item? B666nny "Grant" Vincent and many others. Either way this discussion leads nowhere, kaidus has rsi and a wooden plank, I got mental issues and a dog named George.

Why do you have to mention your depression on every post ever

10 time demo of the season is not to be fucked with. Gaming board or not he's the GOAT.
I mentioned there for no reason as the discussion was quite dumb either ways, my dogs name is not George also I guess worth mentioning so I don't get SWAT on me about that possibly not being true.

IDK man, I think it's fair to say that the chap has had a big influence on a lot of players.
Couldn't give two shits if he gets a community item, mind.

personaly didn't start playing demo because of kaidus, but he used to be my idol. I confirm Stylax's theory
kaidus and fribs taught me how to roll my own cigarettes, they both deserve a community item in my honest opinion
Only if the cigarettes kill you.
For real though he did a lot for the community. Remember Pirate Radio?

catmr slin has Community MediGun
so does shenanigan, your point being?
slin got his for (according to the wiki) creating the Community Fortress Mentor Program
D_goesprobablyhugeCommunity items are for creators, not players.
the problem is that if you count every single person who's done something notable around tf2 except play the game it amounts to quite a lot of people. personally i'd probably count kaidus as one of the people who deserves one given the amount of time he's put into the game and the things he's done (played at the top for many years, casted, founded an org, streamed, mentored/analysed, etc) but it's a really difficult line to draw
